You've hit the nail on the head.  The 'secret' backers are, and will remain, a concern until we know who they are and what they want.

I'd start with whether they are real!

Gunna stay optimistic until the loan window closes and then I'll blow my fuse if nothing has been sorted.

Back to transfer rumours, I think we need a pacy tricky winger. None of those that we have currently fit that description and I personally think we need more pace as Williams and Storey are the only ones who can considered quick

Then people would just moan that we are not being kept up to date
But we're not really are we? We keep hearing that the embargo is going to be lifted "tomorrow" but when tomorrow comes it never is.

If, as has been stated by the Board, the owed money has been paid what is the problem? There obviously is one and that is, not surprisingly, making a few people a bit nervous about how the new Board is running the club. I'm all for giving them time to prove themselves but this embargo situation is really getting ridiculous. How long is it now that it has been going on?

It's all very well and good Jed making chummy, semi-literate comments on Twitter but most of us just want to see an end to all the bullshit - tell us what is going on and why the club is still under embargo and what the financial situation really is.

You've hit the nail on the head.  The 'secret' backers are, and will remain, a concern until we know who they are and what they want.  Coupled with the length of time the takeover took and how long this embargo is taking, it is a concern.  Our history of owners has made me very wary of any new owners.

Of course, the delay in the embargo may be nothing, the 'secret' backers may be great people with loads of disposable income determined to run the club properly, and we may be 5th in the Championship this time next year...but until I see it I'll reserve the right to be cautious at best.

Agree with all of this.  It really concerns me that we've had nothing official from the club explaining the reasons for the embargo and why it's taking so long to get sorted.  Are they trying to keep 'really bad' news from us, particularly since we're a couple of weeks into the priority season ticket renewals and they don't want that to be affected?

I thought I'd read somewhere that all monies owing had been paid earlier this week.  If that's the case, why is it dragging on?

I'm not feeling particularly comfortable at present if I'm completely honest.

Whilst I said this, I don't have any idea how long removing an embargo normally takes. Its a cumulation of things that has put me on guard.

Presumably we're still being run on the Ritchie money at the moment so we haven't seen much tangible sign of investment yet.

I'm cautiously optimistic about the new owners, but will be holding off on the season ticket a while longer as this drags on. If we pass the deadline for loans, then I'll start to have serious doubts.

In more positive news, listen to that.

That's the sound of a calm, collected manager getting on with his job instead of imploding in a furious media meltdown of angry threats and demands to the owners. Tranquillity and bliss.

You mean asides from the 1.2 mil the FL requested to be 'ring-fenced' for the takeover to go through?

When we were under umbongo pre Christmas, Black released some funds and the umbongo was lifted within a day or so iirc.

This time around we are still in umbongo almost a week after clearing outstanding funds. So what are the FL waiting for? If debts have been repaid what could be the issue?

They wouldn't keep us in umbongo because there is a possible legal wrangle with PDC coming our way. They only just completed a fit & proper persons test on our new board looking at their plan/finances so it would be bizarre if they now have an issue with anything in that regard some 2 weeks later...

I fucking hate the 'Really bad news coming' line then fucking silence... It's bullshit.

No. It took 1 month

Where on earth did you get the idea it took 1 day?

Was that a stipulation of the takeover or a stipulation of the embargo being lifted?

Was there a story confirming the payment of this money?

It's baffling if we have that much money available and ring-fenced what possible complications there could be?

Morsehead seams to think the club have done all they can.

Feels like there is a bit of an underlying issue outside just paying up, might be wrong. Even if I'm not it may not be related to the new board directly. Its so frustrating though...

oh and Flasheart, not sure what your point is. Those links say the club took a month to remove the embargo, yes, but not the latency between actually paying and lifting.
