Until Matt Ritchie starts to change his attitude (ala Paul Caddis) then we have no reason what so ever to sell him or any other of our players.
Simple transfer policy: If they want out, we get rid If we want them out, we get rid If they dont want out and we dont want rid, turn down all bids

But every club/player relationship has a tipping point where the transfer fee offered is far in excess of the player's actual worth
If anywhere near £2m is ever offered for Ritchie I'd expect, and hope, the club bites their hand off

£2M is not alot in the grand scheme of things. Take £2M now or keep the team and win promotion to The Championship is worth far more.

This. If a bid of that figure came in I'd imagine there'd be a few chuckles around the club and then concern Paolo would consider it derisory. Obviously I want Ritchie here, but it's over my tipping point - which I'd consider about £1.2m or so.

You also need to consider if you could get an equal or better replacement for £2m before the transfer deadline and maintain your results while without him and getting the replacement up to speed.
The club may feel the cost/time to get a replacement is too much so would rather keep Ritchie.

Personally, I don't think Ritchie is that crucial to our maintaining a promotion bid. Undoubtedly a good player for us but not irreplaceable by any means

IMO he is critical to it! With less than a week of the transfer window left I doubt we could find a suitable replacement.

Turning down £2M (up front) would be almost unbelievable. Turning down 700K up front + £1.3M in clauses such as getting into the Prem, playing for England and performing anal with the Queen then I can believe it.
I wouldn't want us to sell, I do believe he is crucial to the team and hard to replace. But at the same time if the board sold at £2m it would be hard to resent the decision.
It would knacker our right side mind.
I know its speculation that a bid was launched. But I'd imagine a Wolves bid would understandably turn Ritchie's head somewhat. Whereas I was never really worried by Bournemouth, who would only have tempted him with hard cash not higher football.

If Leeds can get £7m for Fabian Delph who is crap, we should be looking for that amount or more for Ritchie.

Oh and
"West Ham complete the signing of Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Matt Jarvis in deal worth a potential £10.75m."
makes me think the Ritchie link was likely true than a rumour. Wonder if we have put them off.

Another way to look at it is Richie was awesome for us in L2 and would be a handful in L1. But is he the player Wolves should be looking to sign if they want to go straight back up?

I think £2 million is a fair price as Batch states if its all up front and not in add ons etc.
With Jarvis leaving them for a lot of money (£10 million+) then I think we should hold out for a little bit more as they have a NEED to replace him, which I think Ritchie could do easily, I think he can step up to the Championship level with ease.
I would be upset at losing a very influencial player though especially if we lose Caddis as well but every player has his price and between £2million and £3 million up front would be a good fee.
That said...we don't need to seel him so we can hold on for the better fee.
Also we do have Rooney who is a ready made replacement so may not even need to buy a replacement straight away should he go.
Still no rumours on the Wolves Forums as yet though so it could just be some people putting 2+2 together and coming up with £2 million.
