I’d have thought we’d get Clayton to 40 because he’s still a future saleable asset. Might not be worth as much as 12 months ago but still worth something I’d have thought
The unknown quantity. Or whatever anyone will pay for him.

Clayton could be more money to Liverpool at 40 apps, he was a fee I think.

However from his perspective if we can’t extend his contract he can sign for whoever he wants to in the summer free of any fee so potentially getting a better deal

At a usual club I’d say if we properly reinvested the money we could get for Hutton (although losing him to Walsall would be a sad state for the club) then I’d be open to it and try UGM/Genesini there until the end of the season. His attacking output numbers are impressive but he’s OOC at the end of the season and you don’t want to gamble losing him for free (unless we have an option which for all the faults of last season, one thing they did seem to do is negotiate handy clauses into contracts).
But the clubs killed absolutely any faith that we’d reinvest that money well or replace Hutton properly when it comes to it so I say keep him until the summer and get a few more goals off his assists which could be vital

I walked passed him in the CG car park with his partner and kids before the game yesterday so he was definitely there.
Yes but what on earth was you doing with his partner and kids? Poor RHM, the guy can't catch a break, isn't back in the team and stfcJack is seemingly knobbing his mrs

Going off on a bit of a tangent here, but it's interesting that there is a lot of 'i've heard x,y,z' related to RHM, or Clayton. (the rumour about them not wanting to play with Kokolo sounds absurd to me)
Do you remember prior to Angus MacDonald being given to Aberdeen to get him off the wage bill there was all this tabloid style rumour about him doing something untoward? (i'll not mention it but most on here know what the rumour was) It feels very much that there are a lot of chinese whispers that keep appearing, where on earth do they begin?

When I read rumours like this, I just assume they are true now. Even if they seem ridiculous.
Because nothing would surprise me with this regime. Nothing.

Our attempt to sign players reminds me of me trying to get players on a Sunday morning
Oh the joys of that! How my illustrious career in Salisbury, Trowbridge and Frome Leagues began.....my brother getting me up cos they only had nine!!

I’m sure Flynn has said Kokolo had already been training at the club before he actually signed? So I assume said players have been training with him or in the gym with him or team meetings etc I mean you don’t have to like your work colleagues do you? …but if your that adamant on not playing on the same pitch as him - then surely you’ll also avoid him in all aspects on the job which probably means your as good as on strike and breaching your contract? Much more likely it’s a money issue be that a wage rise/automatic contract extension/payment to Liverpool Did the MacDonald rumours come up before he left or after he left as justification for what was a horrendous football decisions I remember when we sold Greer and the rumours were he’d split the dressing room, no one liked him, he was an arrogant twat (…and old and past it) and every single player from that squad whose been on any podcast has always said losing ‘Gordy’ was the catalyst for the shit season afterwards. He also went on to play near enough another 300 games at levels above us…

Rumours, shumours. We are never going to know are we. I just assume all decisions are financial in one way or another and anything else is quite amusing, possibly believable, but never treat them as hard fact until they are. Some do have basis in fact thougj don't they? I'm sure Gurney/Hewett was eventually confirmed somewhere! Or was it?! Anderson/Norris hinted at after they left. Did the MacDonald rumours come up before he left or after he left as justification for what was a horrendous football decisions
From memory before he left, but the rumour we were looking to offload was out.
