Didn't Ward go back injured

He went back for treatment, but as far as I know the loan hasn't officially been ended. Perhaps they're still filming his sad goodbye video?

We were 2/3 players short according to Flynn.
We then sold Wakeling & didn’t replace him. (3/4 short)
We signed Ward & Kokolo (2/3 short)
We’ve lost Mahoney, Kemp, Young & probably Ward.

We need to sign 6 or 7 in January, assuming we don’t sell anyone else.

Not going to happen is it

No. I suspect we'll tread water numbers wise, but I guess we'll see.

6 or 7 - more likely 9 or 10 but realistically it will be filling the 5 loan spaces

We have small squad and need competition for places

I'd love to be a fly on the wall between whatever transfer meetings that are going on.. I wonder if this season is being treated as a write-off and they look to get just enough people in to avoid relegation.. obvs comes with huge risks if this is miscalculated. Means CM doesn't have to put anymore money it and can take money out.. win win for him

Yes that strategy would risk us dropping out of the league, but even if we survived the drop we'd risk shedding a couple of thousand season tickets for next season. (Although I suppose the CEO might see that as a positive with 18,000 less freebies given away!)

The only sensible strategy is to recruit solid L1/L2 players who can get us back on track this year and help us push forward next season.
