'Michael Flynn on JMT:

He was with us and did well, I am prioritising what we needed and Clayton wasn't injured then. I liked him but he was offered a very good deal. I don't look at it as him choosing them over us as if we offered him a contract he would be here. We had other priorities.'

I find this statement a little odd. A quality Centre back was surely a huge priority. Sounds like we never offered anything.
I imagine it was down to JMT and Clayton being very similar profiles, and adding another left footer to an already left foot heavy CB pool. If JMT was right footed, would have probably been a completely different story.

Yeah, perhaps he was trying to see if he could make it work.

It depends how pieces/players fall into place i guess. If more business had been done, he had his right sided CB in etc, then maybe he looks at the budget and says yes lets get him in as well, but until he has filled the priority spaces and knows outstanding budgets he cant offer deals to others.

Yeah those are good points. 5-7 transfers to come then, 1st one possibly today.

I really hope JMT not being the priority is because he's not the type of centre back we need rather than just him being a centre back. The back 4/5 is desperate for an experienced defender who can head the ball!!

Kemp seems very much in the mould of Twine, so looks like Flynn prefers his number 10 to be much more of a goal threat/contributor
Kemp has started every one of MKD's friendlies so far.

Bristol city loans.
injuries.
don't want more than 24* in the squad.

shambles of a situation at this moment in time.

before any of you cunts say it, yes it can obviously change

*Lindsey said that last season then ignored it

Then why bother with a trial at all? Unless we were doing it as a favour to keep him fit.

Maybe we really do need to sell Hutton to bring in quality + the wages we need to pay them.

if we sign a load of experience without that I'll gladly happily be wrong!

Tbf, Hutton has started all of ours - Corsham aside - but if an offer comes in, he’ll be off. Presume the same for Kemp.

Based on the news today regarding the injuries our only fit CB's going into the season are Minturn and Brewitt.

Obviously that is going to change but goes to show how wafer thin (said in a French accent) the current squad is.

Think we are more likely to use FBT as a CB than a LB this season.

Yeah, I'd actually 'forgotten' about FBT!

Clearly this, but does mean that we probably need a LB/LWB

Just on the note of CBs and our injuries. Can Markus Fjortoft still play a bit?
