Is Reed the first player sold under Clem? Can’t think of another.
We sold Ward to Sutton.

Huge loss reed going and my player of the season last year. Shame it went sour and gutted to see him go. Hope it doesn’t come back to haunt us. Could have easily got £350-£500k 6 months ago. Those saying he won’t be missed have no clue as to what a good footballer looks like.

All true - last season. This season, when he’s played - he’s been error ridden and hasn’t really influenced games. Whether that’s down to Lindsey’s ‘style’ or Reed wanting out after not getting a move, who knows.

But present day Reed isn’t anywhere near last season’s level.

Agreed to an extent. Attitude is a massive factor in this league and sadly that’s been a factor in his dip in form this season for whatever reason be his dad/Lindsey or whoever. He could have been another moncur for us and really kicked on. Obviously not meant to be for us but someone will benefit if he realises his talent and gives his head a wobble.

The last part isn’t true. We all know he’s a good player, maybe even a great one at this level. It’s just within the context of this season that people aren’t too upset to see him leave, and with the extra cash being welcome

Yeah can't be much for an out of contract player in the summer. I thought the same.

Some random facebook account I just saw saying Gladwin to Crawley is done.

They said Gladwin is injured but he was training the past week in Calne? So maybe?

But realistically, we lost the old Reed in the summer. He was already gone.

Spot on and let's not kid ourselves there's not a huge amount of clubs chasing him. He is a very good league 2 player and replaceable

I think that’s not a bad synopsis of the situation. Let’s be real here, in the world of professional football, his agent would have hawking his services to any club willing to listen. Aberdeen & Digger would have been aware of that and fending off suitors from sometime in December, assuming there were multiple interested parties. Or just negotiating with The Stags from a stand point of we’ll keep playing him as and when we want until we reach an agreement. Let’s hope he doesn’t get injured..

For those who think he is a poor/shit player, you need your head tested. Clough wouldn’t have come for him with an 18 month contract if he was and we have seen how good he can play last season. Cest la vie.

Under the new management, we might have got last seasons reed back, so IF we only got a nominal fee for him, was worth keeping him imho even if he left in summer. No centre mid I saw last season had his capability. Forget the myth of the free kicks, his ball retention was incredible.

Such is life.

I don't think anyone is saying he is shit as such but when you consider that midfield has been our weakest area this year and someone with as much ability as him has been so poor i can see why people are not fussed he has gone.

Good to see the Reed situation resolved.  No longer a good fit for us with our current style/personnel.
