As I used to live in Suffolk, I clicked on the link to see if it was a village I knew, and it’s actually the village I lived in!!

Hopefully it brought back lots of good memories for you.

I’d imagine a lowish fee with a highish sell-on clause.

I cannot imagine us paying a transfer fee for anyone.  Ipswich will trigger the extension to ensure they can negotiate the fee rather than let it go to tribunal, neither of which seem likely in our orbit.

“We try and do it in the right way.

I'm not sure treating a human being as a commodity is doing things in the right way. Ipswich may be legally right, but morally, I would suggest Simpson's actions suggest he's not convinced. Hopefully see him in Town red next season.

Seems like a pretty realistic target...I wouldn't be surprised if don't work something out with Ipswich...

Are any of you 100% that he is going to be in our plans next season?

Feels like another Jerry Yates situation where supporters think we are in with a chance of signing but there will be plenty of other clubs ready to jump in.

You could see Peterborough or similar clubs come in who are prepared to gamble on young talent. If Simpson can progress he is the big single centre forward with strength and pace that could go much higher.

Davison might be the more realistic signing if he is out of contract?

I wouldn't mind Davison at all. I may be in a minority of one but I prefer him to Simpson.

It’s a tough gig playing one up front, so don’t think that helps Davison tbh but his first touch is awful. Simpson has more potential to kick on but can’t see us getting him unless we go up.

I think that's spot on. There are 91 other clubs that will have seen a big raw 19 year old show plenty of promise. Best I think we could hope for would be a Championship club to take a punt and loan him back to us.

Its all about the club for us fans, but, its all about the money for players and agents - Maximise income for what is a short career.

I would be amazed if we signed Simpson however less surprised if we signed Davison.
All about opinions which makes it great.
I would have Simpson every day of the week over Davison. However definitely looks better in a two up front.

Garner has just said we’re not in the market for Simpson because of the likely fee he’ll command.
