There was no problem what so ever but as soon as the police arrived people started chanting about fighting etc and trying to wind the Millwall fans up. Definately OTT.

Disgusted with their treatment, fair play to the Millwall fans though!!  Proper fans, decent following, good vocal support.

Agree Janaage.....the decision to close the cc pub was mad,it just meant the town fans were out side with nothing better to do.

Was nothing compared to at was at Gillingham, but still over the top. As far as I'm aware there was no trouble, which wl unfortunately lead to the police thinking they got it right.  :-))(

It was over the top.But i guess if any town fans had invaded the pitch it might have got nasty.

Makes you laugh really, I don't think there has been 1 game this season where there hasn't been police either inside or outside the ground.

Do the club only pay for police inside the ground ?

Be nice next season to see a few police free games.

If there was no trouble then they must have done something right...

If this thing comes through whereby clubs have to pay for Police outside as well as inside the ground then Millwall will survive about another 5 minutes.

That police presence at the end will have negated all the attendance money from yesterday.

The club only pay for the presence of the police inside the ground I believe, and this only by request. So surely if the police thought it was in the publics interest to draft officers in from the Thames Valley then the costs will be down to tax-payers and not Swindon Town FC. I'm not sure this correct but it is what I always believed when it came down to costs, that's why we have stewards instead of police inside the ground on most match days.
