I once went to a wedding at that tithe barn, very warm day and it was sweltering inside. and i was very drunk because we got there too early and didn't eat until very late.

You didn't feel the vibe of the oppressed peasantry having to give up a tenth of their produce...to maintain a a corrupt feudal system then?

St Laurence's church is an interesting place.

As simple as it sounds really.

Some woman kept missing the point of why her account had been suspended (i.e. she owes circa £3k) and told me she'd pay a letter fee of £35 on another debit card. I asked her if she wanted me to clear the other £2965 while we were at it - a bit cheeky I admit - she said "why are you always so fucking difficult?" to which I retorted "to maintain parity with our fucking customers madam."

I've always been intrigued by the Blind House, which apparently started out as a chapel, but later was used for throwing driunks  into whilst they slept it off.

Many years ago I read a book by Guy Underwood, which was about dowsing......he was a dowser and developed a theory that many ancient sites, came to be where they were, because of an underground earth force, which suggested a place of significance.  His idea is a bit like feng shui.

He did much of his research in our part of England.  Combining as it did landscape and neolithic archaeology, two of my passions,  I attempted to teach myself dowsing, with no noticeable success.

He expanded teh theory, to include medieval church architecture, arguing that masons,  knew of the earth force and pitched cathedrals and churches etc  accordingly.

So according to Underwood the Blind House was built where it was, came about as a response to underlying earth forces.

There's a bit more to it than just this....he felt plants and animals could respond to the force, more so than us, although we're capable, we need to learn.  I haven't as yet.
