what a load of bollocks this is.using tranmere as an example is laughable, as they play their games fridays because of who their near neighbours are.it makes sense for them.not for us.
It's all a cunning plan to boost the attendance for Swindon Supermarine!!!

Matches should KO on a saturday at 3.00pm. Fuck Friday night KO's.

Have the board consulted any fans on this or are they using the advertiser and message boards to guage reactions?

If I'd read about this six months ago when Diamandis and his gang of fucking idiots were in charge I'd have brushed it aside as just another fucking loony scheme

The Adver reached the most town fans out of all the media so it would make sense

That's not consultation though - that's a one-way street of just telling people. Like when politicians talk about having a "national debate" on something which actually consists of a few op-ed pieces in the Sundays.

It does look like a case of putting it the public arena and then seeing what the reaction is.

If they take heed of the response then fair enough but if there is going to be a series of ideas that would benefit from discussion with the fans then you would like to think they would pass the odd idea to fans groups first.

Take season ticket prices for example. What is the harm in sitting down with trust and supporter club reps and taking on board feedback?

It kills away support.

Its just not right at all.

Friday night football is the easy way out. Larwood's brother plays all the time now, only comes to a couple of midweeks and has done that for 7 or so years. Used to be there every home game. The reason lads play and dont watch their local side is because (in my opinion) they dont think their local league football is personal to them anymore. Doesnt mean anything to them. Players who come and go in no time at all. Mercenaries playing for the money. All the laddish element of the game is being squeezed out and you have to pay twice what you did 15 years ago for the privilige sitting in seats when you'd rather stand. Squeezed out,
as well as all aggro (love it or loathe it) where the fan rivalries are really formed. One big meaningless, plastic, pointless, expensive mess.

Down the park, with your mates, for free, playing because you love the game, for the odd bit of glory. Its more of mans sport.

Having said all of that, when they talk about their games to me it is Fucking boring as fuck. Play, fine, enjoy it, but dont expect me to be interested because it aint! Im still in love with English league football myself. But I can see the real reasons so many young lads in our area play. Its only personal when the local rivals are in town or a big cup tie. Remmember those? Big side at home? I dont.

Last "big" cup at the CG was probably v Coventry.   Full house, we were a bit shit, Sol Davis got mugged by Bellamy early doors and we never recovered...think Mustapha Hadji go the 2 nd.

They oversold the Town End, it looked brilliant. All over about 5 minutes in.
