A move like this creates winners and losers, and the club obviously think that there would be more winners out there than losers.

Unfortunately for me, and the many other people I know who travel from London and elsewhere, I would be a loser.  I would not be able to make a game on a Friday night for the same reason I have not been to a Tuesday night game in years...I couldn't get there after work.

We would also be making ourselves very unpopular with other clubs and their fans.  Unless the game is one of our few local derbies, away attendances would be minimal.

As someone who commutes to and from London myself I totally agree

As someone who commutes to and from Bristol and who usually takes his 5-year old son to Saturday games, so do I (on both grounds)

Why not go the whole hog and start playing our home matches @ 1435hrs  on Mondays?  (except Bank holidays, then we could play them on the next working day).

That'd be alright.

Not thinking of ways to accomodate a football or rugby ground share is he?  Soapy Tit Wank

But seriously a big no from me as would mean I would have to drive to every game rather than having a drink and going on the train. At the end of the day only ticket prices and a successful team will have any significant impact on the attendances, changing days will do very little IMO

ON another note.
Are we allowed to change the days we play?
Surely the other teams need to agree to this. A late kick off may mean an over night stay for the northern clubs which will incur hotel costs. The matchday staff will have day jobs on a Friday too.
Dont think they will want to finish at 5pm then head off to the CG for another few hours work (if they can make it in time).

To be fair if its only a few games I don't mind as there are so many teenagers etc. who have Saturday jobs/play footy on a Saturday afternoon that can't come.  In fact many of what could be our fans of the future.

It's hard to tell though, because for every one of them they'll be another that can't make it on a Friday. Swings and roundabouts.

I'm not bothered either way as long as it's only kept to a few games. Saying that, getting to midweek games is a pain in the arse enough as it is and I only work in West Swindon when I'm in the office. I could see myself missing more games as a result and thus change my opinion then.

The board can fuck right off with this idea.

I won't be able to make many home matches if this comes in.

Fucking gay idea.

i wouldn't mind a couple, doesn't make much difference to me, but a certain (high) percentage should still be at 3pm on Saturdays.

To be fair, they're only talking about doing it for a few matches a season I think

Grr stop being so dramatic it won't be every game! And even then they've said its only an idea at this point.

I wouldn't mind personally.

Matches should KO on a saturday at 3.00pm. Fuck Friday night KO's.

Have the board consulted any fans on this or are they using the advertiser and message boards to guage reactions?

If I'd read about this six months ago when Diamandis and his gang of fucking idiots were in charge I'd have brushed it aside as just another fucking loony scheme

The Adver reached the most town fans out of all the media so it would make sense

what a load of bollocks this is.using tranmere as an example is laughable, as they play their games fridays because of who their near neighbours are.it makes sense for them.not for us.
