Cox is the only forward I would keep for next season.
Eh?! He has potential, the others have been playing around the clubs for years, they are decent players but not goal scoring machines and will never be so.

Corr has a pretty decent record, must be about 1 in 3, not bad for a striker
Every team needs some sort of water carrier type striker, someone to do the hard yards. Thats Paynter.
The only striker i'd get rid of is sturrock. He tries his best, but isn't good enough for this division.

A fit Corr could be the answer, but there is the problem, why was he off-loaded by Sheff Weds. How many games this season has he played? How many are we likely to get out of him before the end of the season.

Fair point. I wouldn't be so hasty in getting rid of him though

I think this thread has summed up one of our biggest problems, the fans expectations are way too high.

I think this thread has summed up one of our biggest problems, the fans expectations are way too high. Why are they too fucking high? I expect jamie vincent to beat Thompson in a foot race i expect our best centre midfielder to playin the middle not on the wing i expect a player who is so right footed its unreal to not be playing on the left wing when we have two fit left wingers in the squad, and i also expect our manager when we are one down at home to use his 3rd substitution.Thats not high expectations thats reality tails

I think although Vincent let Kandol go, it was a stupid idea for him to be marking him... Aljofree/Ifil should have taken responsibility for the big lads and let Vincent do the covering

If someone a striker scores a header that is your centre half's problem surely? Not your fullback who was the smallest player in our side?!

I just think in general, we are expecting too much from a side who are a midtable league one side, where we've been all season! On Saturday, Paynter battled for a ball, won it, beat a player and then played a decent (ish) ball over to the right hand side and was unlucky that it went out of play. This was met by cries of "YOU'RE USELESS PAYNTER" from some in the town end. Same with Allen aswell, he'd played well, gave the ball away once and several fans around me shouted "Take him off he's crap". We expect too much from some players, they aren't gonna be perfect! FWIW, I think next season Cox and Paynter starting together will do very well. I reckon they could manage 35 between them.

I rate Coxy as much as the next bloke but there's no way he'll get 32 goals next season

Billy Paynter has had more shots on and off target than any of our other players.
I think Macca is pretty much spot on. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't concerned with our recent form. I believe it is actually relegation form. However, every team that doesn't go up automatically will go through a bad spell. This is ours and as it has come after a good undefeated run, people are panicking.
