I don't think we played that well today, I think the lack of width stood out a mile and it was just crying out for us to just go 4-4-2 and get our wide players on the ball and get a few good crosses into the box to test their defence properly so our strikers could have some decent service, that said I thought the front 2 worked hard.

We seem to have gone more direct in recent weeks, whereas we used to try and play through now especially today it was knock it long most of the time and hope someone get's on the end of it.

I think that perhaps if we switched back to 4-4-2 and brough in Nico for Vincent purely for the fact that Nico is willing to overlap and Minge on the opposite side will get us more options.

I don't think Leeds were good just lucky, they looked a poor team and not any better than us but they broke up the play better.

Those that are moaning about Smith - remember when Brez was brought back in he was shaky as he has been out so long, it takes time to regain match fitness again and make yourself alert, we lack reserve games so it is not as if those players that have been out of the team have been able to get a game regular, I'm sure smith will come good again though last he was before, if Brez is brought straight back in now it would shoot Smith's confidence and probably all but end his stfc career.

I was always of the opinion that with the players we had we stood an outside chance of the play-off's but recent week's have shown we are clearly not good enough and something isn't going right.

I am not in the Malpas out camp the bloke needs to be given time but it has to be said if we do continue to lose games and not play well there will be a time that you have to question if he is up to managment, but now is not the time, we need to get behind Malpas and the team and spur them onto victory on Tues night, as 3 points is becoming vital, we are only 8 points of relegation zone and we have not got the players for a fight.

I'm sure it will get turned around though and we will look back on this run and laugh as it showed up some players as not being good enough.

Thought we played fairly well compared to last saturdays shit, and think a draw would have been a fair result given the chances. They took their one clean cut chance and we didnt really create a great deal.

But we did manage to miss the clearest chance of the game!!

Thought it was just one of them games in all honesty. We were the better side but our final ball and delivery from crosses and set-pieces was shocking. Luck wasn't on our side either. The ball didn't seem to bounce in our favour at times. The ref was a joke to be fair. Can't say i have seen so many poor decisions in one game.

Not sure i like the formation at all. Easton on the right just doesn't work one bit. He isn't a right winger so he always drifts to the centre. Roberts should be playing on the right and not the left. Why do we need a holding midfielder? And also if your going to play one don't play Chris Allen there as he is a centre mid or right mid player. He's not a holding midfielder. Malpas certainly has baffled me with his selections so far. Why start Smith again? His kicking was awful and he looked very dodgy.

Positives to take would be Kanyuka who i thought looked pretty good and Paynter who also played very well. The negatives would be that we seemed to play well without actually playing well if you get me. We need to get the basics right like Leeds did today otherwise we will continue to make life hard for ourselves.

i thought we played quite well and didn't deserve to lose, perhaps a win wouldn't hve been entirely unjust.

leeds didn't look that impressive and were generally just a bunch of bruisers, beckford was a petulant little twat and the sum of kandol's contribution was a goal which basically landed square on his head after three town defenders missed it.

comminges was MOTM for me, paynter and cox combined quite well.

i thought roberts game summed up the word frustrating - his delivery and final ball was atrocious but he has no left foot.

ankegren turned to the town end after the game and celebrated, a couple of coins were thrown at him so he picked one up and threw it back. i can't condone anyone throwing coins at players but he must be devoid of any intelligence to a) celebrate in front of the home fans after doing his best to waste time for 90 minutes and b) actually throw a coin back at the fans. what a thick cunt.

speaking of thick cunts, there is a worryingly large number of complete and utter mongoloids following town who spend the whole game moaning at players, getting on their backs and then fucking booing at the end. we're turning into a pathetic excuse for a plastic club who thinks success is a divine right. it wouldn't surprise me if these idiots are the plastic twats who only turn up for games like leeds and forest as those regulars and hardcore fans have at least some connection to reality

I went to the game and I know the facts of what went on to get Malpas in charge

Well I'm sure we'd all be very interested to know any actual FACTs you may have in that regard, that you can back up, of course. Please fill us all in on the true FACTs

i agree about roberts delivery from dead ball being a bit shit.
that said, he was always a threat today which is rare.
the balance was all wrong in midfield because apart from roberts we had no other creative midfield threat.all we had down the right were the odd occasions comminges ventured forward.
get easton back in the middle, and unless allen can beef up a bit he aint up to it.skinned to easily then has to foul.
great touch and passing range, but the physical part of his game lets him down big time

The midfield don't support the frnot two or help out the defence. This is the biggest problem that needs sorting. We don't get enough players forward quickly enuogh to be a real threat.
I must have been a complete twat to listen to my daughers dream of 3-2. Ladbrokes are £20 richer and my daughter won't let me anywhere near her money box. When she goes to bed, the money box gets raided. She really needs to learn not to dream.

No complaints with todays performance, they had a chance and took it, we had a few and didn't.

Impressed with Allen today.

Bored of the MM bashing on here.

Agree with arriba about Minge.

Still no onions for my hotdog.

but....it ALWAYS has been....

Why was Allen not given a chance to whip in any of the corners/free kicks?

Please, someone, anyone....just stop letting Roberts take them all.

I'm starting to agree with the Wing Minge calls...

a leeds fans view for what its worth

Quote
Just back and here are my thoughts So a win, did we deserve it, probably not, it wasn't an encouraging performance we seemed to have no midfield, they'd attack, Casper would kick it out and they would attack again that was the pattern for most of the day.
Right that's the negatives out of the way let’s look at the positives and give you a fans view. 3 points and a win was an absolute must today and the defense who although not amazing they did fight for the cause very well, especially Rui of course. Lubo I thought had a really shaky start but I did see him make some quality challenges later on and he'll deserve his place as long as he doesn't repeat his early performance today.

Basically though Gary Mac needs to sort out a non-existent midfield, there is no one to hold the play up, no one to feed the strikers regularly throughout a match and nobody who can make Leeds control the game.

That's that, we will need to perform better than that in the future but we weren't a great deal worse than Swindon.
You could say we were good where it matters and that is in the penalty boxes, but that may be pushing it a little. Kandol takes credit for a well taken goal his 2nd in 2 matches and he most certainly should have won us a penalty in the second half but the ref was waving to his mum in the crowd at the time.

A word about the fans, it was really hard to get a song going because we were spread out in probably the worst, most derelict ground I've been to. We had the stand behind the goal and then about a third of one of the side stands. At one point I think there were about 4 or 5 different songs being sung by different sections of our fans at the same time.
Police were funking shite you'd think they've never dealt with away fans before, police helicopters, loads and loads of vans with dogs, FFS they even penned us in for about 15 minutes or so. Ridiculous waste of time and taxpayers money, there was no trouble but having a helicopter, police dogs and getting us agitated by caging us up like animals would have made sparking some more likely.

We go Marching On Together but let’s win some more games and score some more goals hey?

I thought Leeds were pretty ordinary and the most unsporting guests down here for a while, particularly the front 2 who were complete tools. Thier goal was two yards offside and right in front of the lino. Their gyppo, however, was different class and was MOM for me.
The referee was also a complete tool. His decisions on handball and dangerous play were a shambles. Leeds certainly had the benefit of more decisions than we did. He also missed two stonewall penalties 1 for us on the Minge and one of theirs after Ifill fouled their guy.
I don't think we played particularly well and the lack of technique of a lot of players showed in these conditions.
Smith - looked poor. Roberts was OK until his last touch which was absolutely abysmal whether a shot or a cross. Ifill and Aljofree were OK as was Vincent. Despite the fact we have four wide men on the books, i personally think The Minge is better than all of them.
I wasn't impressed by the midfield at all. MOM for me was Paynter again abnd Cox did OK.
All in all a very frustrating game - I think we could have played all night and still not socred.

A good analysis imo. I would disagree about Roberts though. He was complete shite and thinks he is better than he is. He has no left foot, shit delivery and makes the wrong choice of ball. Get rid in the summer please.

you can't blame roberts for being played on the left wing though and that was his biggest problem today. i agree about getting rid of him in the summer.

not sure about putting the minge on the wing, his best form has been since he's played at right-back and had a long run in the team there. sturrock played him all over the place when he first broke into the side and his form was inconsistent.

My comments about putting Minge on the wing was not so much that he is a good winger, rather than the current lot we've got are worse. Roberts really needs to go. His performance today was selfish and ultimately useless. His end product was on a par with mine to my missus after 15 pints. Warm up promises a lot more than the final product, which is crap. As I've had 2 bottles of wine tonight my final delivery will be non existent as will my approach play.
JPM is complete and utter wank.
Macnamee - the jury's out.
I actually think we miss Zaboob - he plays well down the left side with Vincent.
I can kind of see what Malpas is trying to do but he's not got the players to do what he wants. If he was managing in the Premier he would be OK but our lot play in Div 3 because they're technically fuckwits.
