getting rid of Paynter would be stupid, that is all.... agreed mate, i can see Paynter scoring goals I haven't seen as many games this season as you DV, what I've seen of Paynter is he is OK, but that is it OK. I think Paynter started off well and had a dip inform/confidence....he's been playing well that last few games and if our midfield create more for him he'll score goals....

I can't believe we didn't win yesterday... Talk about bloody one sided! Our lack of scoring and wins is beginning to concern me but we've got time to put it right... I hope. We will probably need another 9 points from 12 games to stay up.....we've got 9 from the last 9, so on current form we should be OK, but there are some tough looking fixtures . Lose to Uddersfield on Tuesday and the alarm bells should start ringing....they're the sort of team to beat, lose a lot away from home don't score many and ship a few. Worry is that it will be totally lacking atmosphere on Tuesday, can the players get themselves up, for this key fixture? You might be right Reg but I have to say that Port Vale,Luton and Bournemouth are pretty much shoe-ins for the drop and there's at least one team(probably Gillingscum)that's worse than us-I think we'll be ok

i hope dell is right. because if he is, it will mean money would have been invested in better players than those he mentions.
hoping he is right, and thinking he is, are two different matters mind. This is a terrible attitude to have. I know Paynter isnt everyones cup of tea. But he is a player who can be pushed to much better performances that what he gives us at the moment. Thinking that we can just get rid of Paynter (100k), or McGovern (100k) just like that will take this club back to where we were. On the brink of collapse. We have to get the best out of what we have, buy in areas where we really do need players. Having said that, I think McNamee is a big mistake. So I suppose I am a bit of a hypocrite. But strengthen in areas the team/squad is weakest. Weve been too hasty to disregard players who have suffered a dip in form in the past. Howard and Mooney spring to mind. Changing 5 or 6 first teamers in the summer would be an absolute disaster. I could see us getting relegated if we let Malpas do that.

Was Roberts told to float the ball in from every corner? so fucking annoying its hard to score with a header when there isnt much power on the cross! Roberts needs to whip the corners in, if u look at Ashley Young he whips crosses in with pace and defenders cant deal with it, if i remember correctly villa have scored the most goals from set pieces and Young has the most assists in the prem Mcnamee is the best crosser we have here. He may not do some other things that great but from what i have seen his crossing is top class. That's why i would have subbed him on yesterday for Roberts with about 15 minutes left.

I don't have much to say really as I was hammered.
It was boring as fuck I thought, mutually poor and not alot between 2 dross looking teams. No imagination from our forward players, I suppose a point would have been fair but if cox is going to miss tap-in's my nan could score then so be it.
Boring, mundane and we'd better start looking down with a bit of a caution, not up. Not because we're utterly dreadful but we've certainly lost our way a bit. Newcastle if you will.

I think anyone who thinks someone would pay 100,000 pounds for JPM or Paynter based on their achievements here is somewhat wide of the mark anyway.

Zaaboub, Roberts, McGovern, Sturrock, Corr, Smith and maybe even Paynter will all be surplus to requirements for next season.
McNamee I feel will improve, the others are just ordinary average Division One/Two players.
Just survive this season then clear out the surplus and build a team around the strength the spine of the team - Brezovan, Ifil, Ajofree, Peacock, Easton, Cox can see Paynter staying along with mcgovern and robbo, sturrock nicho pook will go, undecided bout corr Oh, you changed your post sir
