Whether he has a point or not (other than cheap publicity), it is aimed at totally the wrong target - there may well be a moral obligation to pay more than is legally due, but if there is such an obligation falls on those who incurred the debt, ie the previous regime. Not the current owners, without whose rescuing the club, the council wouldn't even be getting what they're legally owed, much less any notional moral debt. So I'd suggest Cllr Glaholm needs to be knocking on SSW/Diamond Mike's door, not Fitton's. Good luck with that one Cllr Glaholm.

This is all happening 5 years too late. If the council wanted full or greater payment of debts owed, they shouldnt have agreed the CVA should they? I believe matey was on the council at the time?

Why should fitton give money to the poor of penhill just because he is rich and bought a business that had major problems 5 years ago?

Its just smacks of the worst kind of socailism, whereby comrade Glaholm expects the rich to give money to the poor simply because they have more money

Oh Dear.... Cllr Glaholm... I assume when you say that this huge amount of money could be used for deprived (or should that be depraved??) areas you can only be refering to the broad green area... an area from wiich we gather you have some experience. You shouldn have resigned shortly after your caution for being a dirty little man.. not continued to sit on the local council pretending to be high and mighty. Maybe you shloud have stayed at home instead of embarking on the "fact finding",Council funded trip to Oz! The money save would surely have helped finance some more of your invaluable "research" into the seedier side of Swindon life.
p.s. As far as i'm aware the only way you can accept a police caution is after an admission of guilt... but then accepting the caution then refusing to comment..?? You have a moral obligation to the voters of this town to explain your actions!!!!!!!
