David Glaholm is actually a top bloke, he got me a house when he was the Mayor of Swindon but these comments are out of order.

Well said Fitton. These kind of things are always going to be said considering its been well publicised how much the consortium is worth. The principal however is that its not Fittons problem. Typical council coming sniffing around when theres a bit of cash about. Mr Fitton, however, says the debt has nothing to do with him and the council is responsible after allowing the club to continue to run-up debts in the first place.
He said: "He is completely out of order saying that.
"The reason it is not being paid back by me is because it is from five years ago.
"It has nothing to do with me.
"This club was within days of going bust. If it had, all this money and the club would have gone forever.
"How would the people of Swindon feel now if their club had been kicked out of the league?
"It is a little unfair to suggest that people who have rescued a team should somehow go back in time.
"After all I am not benefiting from all this.
"Why did the council allow the debt to grow so large in the first place?"

good find Fred ! That truly is tremendous. although maybe the 400,000 grand might help fill a hole in the local economy of said deprived areas if he has stopped visiting them on the strength of him absolutely not ever being charged with being a kerb crawler. tosser

From Freds link just to make sure everyone can see! Former mayor cautioned over kerb crawling From the archive, first published Friday 20th Jul 2007.
A former Swindon mayor who called for a debate on sex shops for the town has been given a police caution after being arrested on suspicion of kerb crawling.
Penhill councillor David Glaholm was stopped by police in the town's red light district on June 17.
He was released on police bail to return to Gablecross police station on Wednesday, where he was given the caution.
Coun Glaholm says the matter is now closed.
Police spokesman Martin Dunscombe said: "A 60-year-old man arrested and subsequently bailed in connection with an incident in the Broadgreen area of Swindon returned to a Wiltshire Police Station on Wednesday.
"He received a formal police caution and no further action will be taken against him."
The father-of-two, who has been married for more than 30 years, said: "The only thing I am going to say is that I haven't been charged and the matter is closed and my solicitor advised me to make no further comment and I won't.
"I'm simply saying I haven't been charged and the matter's closed."
Coun Glaholm, who recently left the Labour Party to become an independent councillor, had previously said he would robustly defend his actions.
Speaking just after his arrest last month he said: "I don't want to say too much, other than, yes an incident occurred and I will be robustly defending my actions.
"I am hoping that the thing will be cleared up without any legal action."
Coun Glaholm was first elected in 1971. He became a member of Wiltshire County Council in 1979 before being elected to Thamesdown Council in 1989.
He became Mayor of Thamesdown in May 1994.
