Well I very much enjoyed my eldest's nativity play (with full-on baby Jesus, Mary, Joseph and angels, the whole kit and kaboodle) at his school last Christmas, and my youngest loves singing Baa Baa Black Sheep which he learnt and sings regularly at his council-run nursery. There's a lot of shit talked about this - most of it is myth. But clearly whoever took the decision referenced in the original story needs their head slamming in a door repeatedly.

I think it's a joke

Surely now they'll have to ban anything involving cows as it might offend Hindus if misinterpreted. In fact, why don't we reject any mention of animal cruelty for the sake of the vegan community, and remove the words black, white, yellow, coloured, foreign (etc) from the english dictionary

The last big Sun style headline of "Primary School to scared to do Nativity" just ended up being a case of them deciding that the same play every year was a bit dull.

We're supposed to be in a secular society and the majority of the population isn't christian. If people don't want to do nativity plays and such bollocks then fair enough.

Same goes for crappy classic fairy tale bollocks. Let them do stuff different with out sensationalist headlines.

no problem with people wanting to do different things - the more the better, but don't ban / criticise anything that's gone before it on the off chance it might offend someone. If you start telling people they might be offended then there's more chance there would be than if you'd just not said anything in the first place.

I was just saying that the last big play banning that I bothered too look into wasn't banned at all. So I guess what I was saying is don't make big headlines about stuff being banned when it isn't.

Or something

I wonder if any schools want to act out my 7 part drama.
