So IF we do not manage to sign Simon Cox do we have the players that can score enough goals to reach the play-off's ?

I think we do need another proven striker, while I think Corr will get goals at some stage a decision is going to be made on his back injury and he may be out of action for a while and I don't think we can rely on the others to consistently hit the back of the net.

I think we need to let Reading know we need an answer as we only have next week until the window for long term loans or perm deals closes and if we can't get Cox Malpas will need a couple of days to get someone else that is proven at this level...permanently hopefully

We still have Moses, Paynter, Blair and Corr and even Mohamed.

I'm not too worried about that to be honest.

Im more concerned about CM should we lose Peacock or Easton.

Mr Fitton said something about Cox last night, basically we'd love to have him but Reading asking stupid money.

I've got a feeling Ashikodi will come good for us.

I'd be more worried, because only 1 of those strikers is a genuine goal threat as far as I'm concerned - Barry Corr - and he has a bad back. (I'll discount Moses from that as I've not seen much of him)

Blair & paynter have had their moments, but they've also had some really dire games as well. Neither has a good goals to games ratio for us. 3 of Paynters came against the worst team performance I have ever seen

if we fail to land cox,i'd like to see the funds spent on another target that malpas has hopefully lined up as a second choice.maybe someone from north of the border?

if we don't get cox, it would be foolish not to look elsewhere. in fact i'd be a little concerned if we weren't already looking elsewhere!

corr's fitness is unproven, paynter's shit and sturrock's hardly prolific.

In a word a yes.

Corr and Paynter are good enough to get the goals.

If we don't get Cox during the transfer window there's no panic as we can still get a loan signing in if required.

I'd rather we didn't panic buy someone in on a long term deal (e.g. 2 years for Arrieta) and then find out they were crap.

I think if cox doesn't sign we need to try an attract someone else before the window closes without cox i fear the goals will be hard to come by.

It was obvious to anyone at  Barnet that we need some srikers, ime sure Cox wouldve won us the game with the chances we created.
