Silly me, it is actually on channel 164.
Channel 165 is FX +1, which will show it in an hour's time.

Just started the second series tonight. Hope it does keep getting better and better, the first series was alright, but nothing spectacular.

I downloaded most of the first series but can't get through the first episode. Not that it's bad (I dunno yet), although it didn't seem amazing, more because I've seen the first half three times now before bailing/falling asleep. I do like the bit at the start where some kids being questioned on why they let some other kid in on buying crack (or something) if he always tried to run off with the money.
I guess it never really clicked with me that the first series must be 7(?) or so years old now. I think I was expecting something more polished (production wise, not grittiness of the stories) I guess, I dunno, something about the way it's shot reminds me of Diagnosis Murder.

The deal to broadcast the series comes after Channel 4 chief executive Andy Duncan argued the BBC should stop buying shows from overseas and put the cash into original productions instead. Sounds like some sour grapes going on with something?

Just a reminder for anyone who hasn't watched The Wire yet. It starts on BBC2 on Monday night at 11.20 and then runs all week and then probably until you've finished season five.
So long as you remember to give it more than one episode, and don't expect Diagnosis Murder.
