Fitton said: "I have my coaching badges and I have always thought there might be a way you could run a football club that is slightly different to the way they have been historically run."

Wonder what he exactly means by that.

Just sounds a little strange, don't really get what he means by saying that.  It could just be a throw away comment, or will he be a little more involved than other traditional Chairman?

Well it impresses me that he takes an interest in it as opposed to just running it from behind the scenes.  He also said he has a qualification in sports psychology which helps.

A pro-active chairman IMO would definitely be positive as long as he gives a new manager the freedom of team selection etc...

Fuck me you look a lot older than 18...Noades took Brentford to the L2 title in 99/00.

He did a stint at Palarse in the Prem, before that about the time he fleeced Goldberg.

Guess Birdy always wanted a toy boy.

Back to the original point.....you tend not to buy a bankrupt football club for no reason, and maybe this is Fitton's.   If so its a worry as chairmen sticking their oar in doesn't tend to work....

If he is intending to coach/manage the team, then surely he would have tried his hand at it first at a lower level with his last club (Hungerford?Huh? Don't remember).

I think that it is not meant to be taken literally myself.

You're probably right Mex, to be fair to AF the quote has kind of just been stuck in there, easy for comments like that to be taken out of context.

"It is a tree-year project at this club and then we take stock"

What does he mean by that as well?
