Just sounds a little strange, don't really get what he means by saying that. It could just be a throw away comment, or will he be a little more involved than other traditional Chairman?

Well it impresses me that he takes an interest in it as opposed to just running it from behind the scenes. He also said he has a qualification in sports psychology which helps.
A pro-active chairman IMO would definitely be positive as long as he gives a new manager the freedom of team selection etc...

If he is intending to coach/manage the team, then surely he would have tried his hand at it first at a lower level with his last club (Hungerford?  Don't remember). I think that it is not meant to be taken literally myself. |
