ok, so I know everything is more worried about the off field stuff blah blah  blah etc

but could our duo of managers got it any more wrong today?

The players, the formations, the subtitutions were all fucking awful.

I mean starting off at home with a 4-5-fucking-1 with Blair 'lead boots' Sturrock upfront and Simon 'I have a contract with a Premiership club and I'm your top scorer by miles' Cox in the wing.

Mohammad would struggle to get into a Sunday league side. I saw him touch the ball about 5 or 6 times and each time he miss kicked it, miss controlled it or totally missed it.

Chris Blackburn is pure non league. Totally at fault for the first goal. Positional play is awful. One off the line and a good tackle in the second half.....but that goal after 2-0 minutes killed the game. Can see why he never got a game under Sturrock.

Pook, I still think is shit. Cant pass at all to save his life. Positive at least he looked interested.

Andy Nicholas isnt a patch in Jamie Vincent and is still very shit.

Blair Sturrock today couldnt run, jump, hold the ball up. He couldnt do anything and he was 5 yards off the pace the whole game.

How many times is Chris Allen zip it in towards Sturrock only for the defender to re-act first and get infront of Sturrock and take the ball. Allen getting blamed for mis placed passes because of other peoples lack of ability

Allen I thought did ok. Good job Brez actually looks like a keeper again he made some good saves.

All in all, even if the take over isnt done.....sack the managers now. I dont care if Diamond Mike picks the team next week. He couldnt do any worse.

i liked chris allen a lot. it seemed to me like he wanted to play football, whereas everyone else wanted to wack it as soon as they got the ball. he mixed his passing up and really zipped the ball about. unfortunately not many others looked interested so passes both long and short ended up with the opposition. he got stuck in as well.

easton was solid as usual and tidy.

and as you say brez made some good saves, but maybe could have got back in position quicker for the first, and will be disappointed to be beaten at his near post for the third (though it was probably past him before he knew it had been hit).

technically Allen is a very good player and he is much better and more able than Pook.

Think he was wasted sat back so deep. Should put him in the middle and got Pook to sit deep because Pooks only decent quality if getting stuck in and breaking up play.

I just hope Allen can bulk up a bit, because he got the talent....just not the frame at the moment.

I wasn't at the match, for obvious reasons. Although I did listen to byrne's interview after the match. To me he just sounds like an idiot who really doesn't know what he is doing, not at this level at least. He just blasts the players without even questioning his own tactic's and appears to have a complete lack of understanding as to how the players must be feeling in regards to the off the field situation.

He picked the team himself, and then bench seemed stronger than the first team!!!!. He also clearly screwed up big time with Mohammed, a major error of judgement that might possibly harm the lads development in the future.

He also said that "Training was excellent during the week", well clearly fucking not innit sunshine.

The long and short of it is that I have no faith in him whatsoever.

i dont know, i think that quarterback-style role might suit him down to the ground. he collected the ball from the defence (like migz used to) and clearly has vision and ability to dictate play from there, he put one beautiful diagonal ball over the top of their right back... only for mohamed to back heel it into touch.

Agree. Can't see why he just didn't keep playing 4-4-2 like Sturrock did anyway?

4-5-1 = the sack for most managers who play it regularly, and shite performances form the majority of teams that play it

I've never understood 4-5-1. It's a waste of time. I think it was Blackwell who played a 4-5-1 in the play-off final when he was at Leeds a few years ago. What is the point in that?

byrne is a clueless idiot and pretty much anyone in the stands today would have picked a better lineup and formation.

Out of his depth IMHO, much like Williams.

Not enamoured by the team or performance today, and listening to Byrne on the way home he strikes me as a bit of an Andy King, all waffle and no susbstance, Ady Williams would be better suited to the media work IMHO, at no point did Byrne take responsibility for system, and worst still he made changes to personnel but still persisted with 433/451, it left the full backs horribly exposed and we were cut to ribbons throughout.  Rubbish match and makes me wonder why I braved my hangover to drive all the way down for it.
