Well anyway i'll go with assumption that this is a wind up until i hear otherwise from either the club, HMRC, Fitton or the Adver.

given the amount of shite flying around here of late (for example, the criminal investigation that was launched at midnight last thursday) i will take this latest bout of scaremongering with a pinch of salt. but if someone wants to give the chaps a call just to make sure, then please do

HMRC Press Office only deal with enquiries from accredited journalists. If it is not supposed to be advertised for at least 7 days after serving I'm sure they will not tell anybody if a petition was commenced last Friday. In any case, they would probably refer enquiries to the Gazette.

Ring Steve Butt in the morning and tell him!
It could be another exclusive for them.

I don't think it matters either way. If Fitton is half the businessman he appears he will have factored this in and used it as even more leverage to force a decision. quickly Fitton said that they had a deal in October/November? but that last minute additions caused the breakdown in talks. I can't believe he would have gone back to the table unless it was on the basis of the original deal. So I'm going to stay optimistic and hope for a celebration this Saturday

Oh, and after reading that post again, he calls it the "Swindon Advertiser".
Iv'e always known it the evening advertiser or even "The adver".
He ain't from Swindon, my bet is that he is a pox fan on a wind up. Hope your right then Fred can cut him I promise you I will hunt the cunt down I'd be worried by that if I were him - Fred's track record on hunting that particular kind of quarry of late is impressive. Look, guys, the reality is this - irrespective of any rumours, actual timings etc if the Fitton deal does not complete within the next week, we're dead in the water. And if it doesn't complete this week, I'd be extremely concerned that it won't complete at all. When the final nail gets hammered in the coffin is immaterial, unless you're especially fixed on going to Yeovil on Boxing Day for some reason

As regards to the posting of notices in the London Gazette....
I can speak from the horses mouth so to speak as I have been bankrupt before and my details are on there from 1998.
I filed for bankruptcy 11th June 1998 and the notice was not printed until 19th June 1998 so it took them 8 days to get it into print from filing for bankruptcy, so if that is a guide then there will not be a publication until Friday or Saturday.
As for the post on THISIS....I tend to ignore the vast majority on there as its total shit.....but I also know that if you pay your debts before the winding up notice is issued then the company can continue trading so if they have issued a winding up order against us and Mr Fitton takes over before next week then he can pay all the debts off in full and the company can continue trading.
I am sure that is how the procedure is, or it certainly was 9 years ago if it hasnt changed since then.
