regardless of his footballing ability, the lad's set up a family and has a nine day old child and claims not to know anyone in sierra leone; he pays taxes and earns a living. odd.

What I am trying to highlight is the fucking inconsistencies.
Its a joke it really is
Now there are strict rules for political asylum, but this falls way way outside of this.
At the end of the day the guy is working here.
How can the government give someone a NI number (and he must have that to be paying taxes) without adequate proof of citizenship etc.

I'm all for kickiing out illegal immigrants (and quite a few legal ones as well) but he was
a. given temporary political asylum b. He pays 40% tax on virtually everything he earns and is thus a net contributor to the British Economy.
Frankly he should be right at the very back of a queue to be deported for simple economic reasons and nothing else.
Of course this comes at the same time as the goverment has announced that there are 6000 foreign nationals who do not have the right to wok here employed in the security industry. I cant help but think it would be for the best if they focussed their efforts on that rather than a bloke who earns £100's of thousands a year and is in the public eye.
