Dont care what you say sussex, you can be loyal to your employers without getting involved in the politics. Wise never got involved with the politics.

His job is on the field- not constantly praising up a blatantly failed/crookd regime

Yes it does look like he may well go.....we hope he doesnt of course as he is one of the most experienced managers we have had at Swindon, not just in recent year...always.

The fans are just getting to like him whereas at the muff he is a legend as we all know, so many people down this way are muff fans and they all comment if I am wearing my Town shirt "oh you lot got our manager, he will do well for you".

The muff fans themselves are still 50-50 on the subject but almost al to a man would accept him back with open arms...the return of the messiah as a lot have said on their forums.

What I have picked up from the forums is the board want a different manager, a fresh start as so not to tarnish luggys reputation at muff if he were to come back and fail.

I am still holding a candle of hope that any contact with Luggy from the muff has been to sound him out and ask for his advice on who would replace Hollowhead and not necessarily as an interview for Luggy himself as I think only a fool would suggest there has been no contact at all from then as Stapleton is a great friend of Luggys and they are only human at the end of the day and speak regularly I am sure.

I think Sturrock if he were offered it would jump at the chance for obvious reasons and I wont hold that against him really, its a better job, better wages, better prospects, better board, better reputation to the fans.....at this moment in time.

I still hope that he will not make his mind up until after the takeover completion on Monday, Luggy has chatted to Fitton, we all know that, and it must have contained his future plans when/if Fitton takes over, if Luggy respects Fitton and believes his plan of action I think Luggy will stay, if for any reason Luggy thinks its pie in the sky, or if the takeover does not complete I feel he will walk.

If Luggy walks before the takeover is complete then maybe Fitton will at the last minute refuse to complete due to the fact that Luggy is at this moment probably our greatest assett, and as Fitton himself has said "Luggy is the best manager outside the Premier League" whether or not you beleive this or not is debatable but surely if when Fitton applied to takeover the club and its best assett has been sold before completion then surely that is a breach of the contract?

If you looked at a car with a 2 litre turbo engine, agreed a price....the garage took the turbo off before you completed the deal...then surely you would walk away? or would you fork out your own money to replace what was originally there not knowing if you were able to replace it with a suitable part......the same might well be said about the takeover?

I too like Gazza wont believe anything until its in writing in front of me, I am fed up of rumours which cause friction, upset the fans, often when not true.

Yes there is no smoke without fire but I dont honestly think Luggy leaving is a done deal yet, the rumblings on the muff forums seems to bear this out.

Yes Hollowhead said something about leaving a team for Sturrock.....but I think that was more of a dig at Stapleton who judges everyone by the luggy yardstick, and I think that whoever goes to the muff will always have that against them, a bit like Hoddle at Swindon....he has set the mark down and everyone is judged against this.

Sorry its so long but I needed to let out some frustration, yes he will probably go but its not over till the fat lady sings, even if its forlorn I still hope.

On a slightly different tack...if he does go then fine, no one man is bigger than the club, save the club first no matter what.

In everyday life, yes I agree Bart, but being manager of a league football team is a public facing role. You get interviewed by the media, you get asked questions whether they be on or off field matters, and you give answers that placate both your employers and the wider audience, ie: the fans.

Not looking for an argument, just disagree with you fella.

I've just edited your post Sussex, as what your suggesting is nigh on impossible in our current situation.

I sense an air of inevitability that Sturrock will be leaving tomorrow. If he does, we just have to get on with it.

My biggest concerns are:

1. How the team performs over the coming weeks with a yet-to-be-appointed caretaker manager, at a crucial stage of the season, and with two very difficult away games in early December at Carlisle and Southend.

2. Who Sturrock is likely to come in for during the January transfer window. Corr and Ifil are two names already rumoured/speculated, there may be more. Cox's loan finishes too, who knows whether it'll be renewed. Could that leave us light up top?

And anyone who thinks that Sturrock Jnr and Pook will follow Luggy to Plymouth must be totally fucking deluded.

I'm quite happy with Pook this season from what I've seen. I don't see Sturrock taking him or Junior to Plymouth with him if he goes though

Morning Coxy.

Thanks. I didn't suggest anything did I? Just tried to explain a couple of things.  :?

maybe, but sturrock seemed more than capable of dodging the probing questions in his post-match interview last night.

makes you wonder why he felt he had to stick his oar in on off-field matters that 1) he had no context on comprehension on, and 2) end up making him an enormous hypocrite.

I'm going to be a bit contraversial here but I think, if he goes, sturrock is more of a cunt than wise. We haven't played much better than sturrock. Wise was publicly cristised by a certain Bob Holt live on tele/radio. Wise was probably left humiliated. Sturrock publicly said he can work with the current board, but as soon as one of  beloved clubs come running to him he's gone. Can you blame either for leaving? I think not.

So Something is obviously wrong with the current people in charge (god i sound like Bart!) as we've had two fairly decent managers leave. My only concern is having a club to support. Fuck everyone else, managers/press whoever, lets get this fucking mess sorted once and for all. If the takeover fails, as rumours are rife, come next week we will be extinct. Heavens above, please please let that not be the case.

Why is everyone worried about Sturrock taking our players? Wasn't the same thing said about Wise when he left? He only took Weston (who'd been released). Stop getting so paranoid  Cheesy
