england need  a point, croatia are already qualified...

i can see a 1-0 defeat at which point the entire country implodes due to the national team's failure to qualify.

Not saying it will be an easy game at all but I think we'll get the draw atleast. The players KNOW they have to earn this one

We'll go through.

Remember when Robson failed to get us to Euro 84? Everyone called for his head, especially the pathetic tossers in the press, he hung on by the skin of his teeth and got us to a game away from a World Cup Final.

Too much knee-jerking amongst England fans, if we beat Croatia by 2 goals we'll come top of our group................................................

England fans are fucking useless anyway, most of us wanted Keegan, remember how well we did under him?

I don't really remember it.....but back then the Euro was a much smaller event, and football wasn't in the least trendy.  You could watch an England game in a pub, largely free of part timers and armchair Prem tossers.

86 WC and 88 Euros being the last such occasions.

True. Without the success in Italia 90, would football be as big, commercially, as it is now in England? Without the commercial success, would The Premiership have ever been conceived: spawning millions of armchair fans, mega rich footballers, subscription TV and all the hype and hysteria that's become associated with it?

Dunno myself, but it's a thought innit?
