Devil’s chiropractor for a second what does Diamandis stand to gain from a takeover?
Presumably they’re offloading the holding company debts and all and not just selling the majority shareholding in the club that the holding company owns. In which case he’d stand to gain cash for shares like it or not he legitimately bought for a quid (for the crack).
If he benefits from any development it would again have to be legitimately approved by new owners and I can’t see anyone bailing the club out and then handing over a stake after shelling out all of that cash.
A similar introductory fee that has landed the ex-Derby director in hot water (see other football section) would have to be agreed by Wills as again I can’t see any buyer forking out that kind of money themselves unless it was hidden, which is back to the Derby thread again!

Apparantly rumour is that Fitton has said that he will not allow Diamandis to benefit personally from any redevelopment.

I don't think anybody needs to go crazy if a takeover deal isn't completed by the 16th. Fitton has already said that this date means nothing to him, but if its not completed by the end of November, there must be a problem.

Sorry Magic I must have missed something - it may not mean anything to Fitton but to most people I know the 16th is a big day (we may be wrong) The following day is Leeds away and I'm expecting everything to either be done and dusted or fallen through.

There's no way these people keep coming along, offering money and so on and so forth without realising how bad the club's finances are - it is purely down to the demands and attitudes of the people they are dealing with. Didn't the trust accuse the board of turning away previous offers to buy the club? I'm sure they said something about that way back in time and the Wills family (or their advisor) then issued the classic statement saying that they would 'pull out' if anyone slagged them off, ever again, by the way.

Shamelessly stolen from thisis: According to BBC Swindon/Wilts this am, there may be an announcement next week with regard to the takeover. Aparently they have a plan for the club in place and want to communicate that to the fans.
Fitton was quoted as saying that talks had gone well with the WILLS FAMILY (no other parties mentioned) and that the takeover was now likely to go ahead.
Is this the real deal at last Anyone else hear that at all?

Yeah. Was just in the sports headlines. Nothing major. Just saying that the deal should be completed by the end of the month. Nothing we didn't already know really. There was no speech or anything from Fitton.

I heard the bit this morning of the Radio.
Basically said the the deal is now quite likely to go-ahead, The terms of the deal already agreed on with the Wills family, just checking thoroughly checking through the books etc, to ensure all debts are covered, no unexpected suprises etc.
All being well it sounded as if the announcement next week would confirm this purchase of the club, however it would not at this stage be completed.
The announcement would also give a blueprint to the fans of their plans for the club including any development, likely changes and how they plan to take the club forward.
Personally I'm very positive with want i'm hearing. The only downsound was mentioning we still may get a points deduction from the FL

From BBC Wiltshire................. The group in discussions to buy Swindon Town say it is increasingly likely they will takeover at the County Ground and are hoping to make an announcement next week.
If completed, a deal would end years of uncertainty over the future of the club.
Ramsbury based businessman Andrew Fitton is leading the takeover and says discussions with the Wills family are going well.
He revealed that the terms of the deal have already been agreed and that they are now in the final stages of working through the accounts to make sure that there are no surprises should they take over.
An announcement is expected to be made next week, although it would then take a while longer to complete the paperwork.
Swindon fans have heard this before, with the abortive takeover by Best Holdings but this deal appears much less likely to end in recriminations.
Mr Fitton says the prospective owners already have a blueprint for the clubs future, which they will reveal to fans as soon as the contracts have been signed.
The deal would see a debt of nearly £1 million paid to the clubs creditors, although Swindon could still face a points deduction from the Football League, because it is already four months overdue.

This just confirms that Andronique was talking out of his backside when he said that he was all powerfull & we didn't have to worry about such things.
