Town hit by transfer embargo

SWINDON Town have been placed under a transfer embargo by the Football League.

The action has been taken against the Robins due to unpaid football bills, and the club are hoping to have the situation sorted by the end of the week.

That's a bit spooky. I just posted an almost identical thread on Thisis, only I posted it as a book with odds on each entry.

I think Mike might've put his foot in it with his little outburst yesterday then:

Quote
Speaking for Holdings, Mike Diamandis said: "Much of the present ill feeling towards the Board emanated from a meeting of October 6th last year when Paul Davis presented a report regarding Bill Power's departure from the Club

Actually, now most of the ill feeling is going to be because we've had a transfer embargo slapped on us because you didn't pay the bills.

I'm more surprised that we weren't already under one, or did that automatically expire on 30 June when we were supposed to 'exit' the CVA......

I wonder if we are due any payments from the FL the end of the week and that is how these bills will be paid by the FL paying them out of the monies we are due, I assume this is to do with 'nam not getting their share of gate receipts and other clubs not getting theirs either.

Anyone think it's because they haven't paid the player again?
