is there any progress with the march arrangements? is anyone taking a lead in this or is it still at the ideas stage at the moment? i think the monday meeting is intended as a time to form a definate plan for a way forward. Id say the march is one of the things Im on about. You need a massive amount of organisation, a massive amount of people all for something that might become obsolete at 5pm next friday. Also a march in my opinion is not something they will take any notice of. Unfortunately if you want them to take notice its got to be a bit unpleasant and in their faces. Keep it simple! Why not both tho Spence? the march would get good media coverage and keep the protests in the spotlight where we need them to be. More reports on the news, front page of the adver would be great. The more and more impact we make here the more people can keep reading the story and be influenced. The media is our avenue to hit people that stopped going and say just follow the results, people that are undecided and people that don't know all the facts so I would say it is key as we try to keep the campaign going. I know its not popular but I also agree in your face treatment will work as well. At the moment Diamandis sees us more as pest's who will just go away he doesn't fully understand how much the club means to us all. He has taken companies under in the past and faced anger from locals but he has never taken a company / club the size of Swindon under, I really believe he is underestimating what the response would be like if he took the club under. To be truthful I dont think we will get the turnout for a march. What if only 60 people turn up? Everyone gets disheartened. Weve got to make it easier for ourselves. Dont mean to put you on a downer. But it would be a miracle to get a decent turnout. If it rains you'll be fucked as well. And Id rather go down the pub, then hit them later where it can hurt them, in and around the ground. But at the end of the day, if its something you want to do fair play to you. But I think its over ambitious, a long shot and not that effective.

I really don't think now is the time to get nervy about the possible turnout for a march or any other type of protest. The possibility that the club may go to the wall makes me shudder. The possibility that only 60 people might turn up for a march doesn't. In the scheme of things, being a little disheartened is a risk I think I'm prepared to take.
And I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at the turn out for a well organised event, in any case. At the very least, I think it would match our average away following...and could exceed it by some way.

Its simple divide and rule. Its all up in the air, and Im sure they will come up with some positive spin next week. Then you'll get all sorts of simpletons slagging you off for not supporting the club. We cant set the agenda we can only react.

I have to admit im a bit unsure about the whole march thing as well.To be honest ive not really read the plans for it because I dont think it will work.It means people putting themselves out and be it right or wrong only certain people will.

I think Spencer has a point, in that we probably need to plan several things, especially if a statement will eradicate a lot of protest.
I suppose the ideal solution would be to have a group of people willing and able to plan and carry out something independent of the march etc., but were able to let a wider audience know should certain events arise.

The march is a flawed idea.
I dont believe that many people would turn up and walking round the town centre does not effect the board or the Wills in any way, shape or from. People would be much better off protesting in and around the CG. A least there everyone is going to have an opinion as oposed to the apathetic masses of Swindon.

I think we need 'spotters' at every possible exit from the ground after the next game. They'd never be able to sneak out then. I took this idea from Football Factory

Don't lose sight of the fact that we are trying to save our club here. Ok they may release statements etc, but I don't really care what they say any more. It's what they do that counts. So what if only 50 turn up for a march. it can't do any harm. I happen to think a lot more will turn up. I fully expect the GW bar to be full on Monday, & I guess that all of those, the ones who protested on Tusday AND the ones on the internet forums (And I know there is some duplication), wi;; add up to several hundred. I guess my point is, that if we hang about waiting for everything to be right, we'll be waiting whilst our club goes under. I'd rather look an idiot on a march than lose my club.

Over the last few years I have seen this board slag off the fans far more than the fans slag off the board. Anyone remmember the Will's outrage at the TRUST? The rageing official statements of last season (probably written by Mike). The numerous 'put up or we will close the club' statements over the years (when they had no such intention). And weve sat by, bemused, amused even, but definately downtrodden. Letting them carry on. Especially before Bill Power when we never thought there would be anyone better. But there is a lack of respect there. It needs to be put right. In your face is the way to go. How else are you going to make a board take notice of fans they have treated like shit for 5 years?
