Sorry for making another new topic, but I wanted to make sure people see this.

What are people's opinions on knocking up a website? I know Olive wasn't too savvy with the idea, but personally I think it'll be a great tool to draw attention to our plight.

I think the whole point of the website should be to give outsiders an idea of what the hell is going on, like fans of other clubs and the (national) media. I don't think we should use it to try and drum up support from other Swindon fans, we can do that through the forums and the local media.

If we're to go ahead with this then I'm more than happy to build the website myself - but I will need people to generate content.

It'd need to be fairly simple and straight to the point. IMO, a kind of FAQ would be good like:

What's this all about?
Why are we doing this?

Please leave your ideas...

I think its a good idea as long as the content is based on fact and not whats reported in the media.

too many websites, the message becomes diluted and we get bogged down with too many different sites etc

Sounds like a waste of your time Sam.

IMO, with time restraints as they are, something with more immediate impact is needed. Basically, getting this out through the press. Again and again and again...

Agreed. As it stands we are organising a protest against Diamandis and the Board on one set date. Will another site make this process easier or more successfull in the space of a week?

A dedicated website would perhaps be useful if we progress to a longer term campaign with specific ideas on saving the club eg promoting the fans consortium or backing a new investor.

If SSW and/or Diamandis were to say they are off tomorrow what would we do then. Do we have an agreed strategy, who will decide  on the aims of the website, as if it just to share ideas and opinions can't it just be kept here or open up TUMDFC

All things to discuss on Monday I think.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I find that a bit of a nasty thing to say - as a journalist I've never lied in anything I've broadcast/written, and neither have any of my colleagues. To say that as a group of people we all lie is a bit out of order.

I agree with Sussex (for once) It's a good idea in the long term but at the moment we need to concentrate on just getting something out there with an immediate effect.

In my line of work it isn't a good idea to lie - you eventually get caught out.

The problem isn't that the media lie, it's just that a lot of what has been reported recently has been very speculative and due to the lack of communication from the club there is very little proof of who is right or wrong
