On a serious note, the people who look on the internet for news already know about the planned protests. Another website won't achieve anything.

We need to get it out to the majority of fans who don't go websites and forums and for that we need other forms of media; specifically the Adver.

There's probably less than a few hundred who regularly use their PC's for updates.

Shouldn't we be trying to spread the news to the thousands that don't?

What like newspaper ads (or the billboard idea)? Excuse me if I'm being naive or I've got you wrong, but I think a printed advertisement of whats going on would work well. Essentially it'd serve the purpose of the proposed website (which I still voted 'yes' for) and sum up succintly whats happening, why its happening, what we're doing etc. It'd reach those people who don't use the internet better.

Apologies if this has already been suggested or is an idea in the works elsewhere, I have terrible trouble keeping up with all thats going on!

[edit] Oops ...just re-read your post and noticed you specifially mentioned the Adver...in which case, I agree!

I voted yes.
A new website might not recruit anyone completely new to the cause but could help in a slightly different way: A scenario that i can see, based on similar examples from the last 12 months, is that on a friday before a home game a statement comes from Mr Fault claiming good news. Some people (fewer every time) believe him, most don't but the majority of people aren't sure what to do about it, wheter to protest, how to protest etc.
When a statement comes out the normal message boards invariably go mad (not a critisism of any site but when big news or something controversial is anounsed  to a room full of people everyone chats loudly and nothing gets sorted till the noise dies down, in our case this could be too late).

Sorry about rambling around a bit but my point is someone who visits a message board wont be able to separate fact from opinion on the ten threads that will start, there will be no news updates as it all shuts down shortly after the time the Mr Fault makes Mr Di's statement for him.

Therefore I think a Website which cronicles the news and the trust response in a simplistic way would be a real asset to the cause. Whether we are talking too late to make a difference I don't know but if someone has the time and expetise to give it a go I'm grateful to them.

What do you mean? This place is a hive of taste and decorum.

Sort of.

I'm not voting. Democracy is populist, short-termist and weakens leadership. We need someone strong to take charge.

The strongest argument against democracy is a five minute discussion with the average voter.

I just feel that not that many people actually give a shit about our football club anymore. Considering the population of Swindon about 150k I reckon, not that many people actually go week in week out. Guaranteed 4.5k?? I can't really blame the rest, as much as it fucks me off.
