how do we know these new prospective owners will want a say in picking the team? how do we know they'll be signing players and forcing them upon sturrock?

we don't.

Arrieta, Almeida
Quote
we do know that they'd likely clear all existing debt and put the club back at a level standing in financial terms, which is more important for the long-term fduture of the club than whether or not paul sturrock remains...

It is but we don't know that either.[/b]

If the portugese people take over just watch them sign their own  players and get veiga, brevett to pick the team.

Like pauld says above you only have to look at the Arrieta and Almeida signings.

I'd much rather the takeover fell through and someone else came in and saved us and keep sturrock as i do feel we have an outside chance of the playoffs this season.

Fair enough Gazza, obviously it would be great to have no more financial problems but are you not worried about the managerial situation?

I don't know about you but i wouldn't want a team full of portugese/brazilian players that would possibly be here to be sold on and us being used as a type of feeder club.

If Sturrock goes that'll be it for me for a while I'll be playing football on Saturdays not watching as it'll mean the club has either gone bust or is being ran by a new bunch who don't care about the club.

I'd rather play football at a reasonable non-league standard and enjoy it than sit and watch something I don't agree with, I'm sure some people would call me a plastic fan but after 15 years of being a season ticket holder I've almost had enough.

I wish the board would just talk to the Trust and Bill Power and give the club back to the community as I don't trust the current board and am extremely sceptical about BEST holdings.

If sturrock went i certainly wouldn't be very interested, i don't think these new guys little, brevett etc give a toss about the fans or the club, they probably want to bring over loads of players and sell them on and they may not be interested in anything else, they cannot be as bad as the current board but i don't think they will be much better.

If they turned us into nothing more than a feeder club or just want to use us then i can see many fans not going to games for the near future.

I have a bad feeling about best holdings for some reason, i could be worrying for nothing but who knows, obviously bill power is the best man to take over but that will never happen so we may as well forget that one.

Sturrock is a top man and a great manager and i really think we can get into the championship within 2-3 years if he stays and i want him to stay as he is without a doubt the best manager since hoddle.

Let's see what happens.

Huh? It's never been run by the community, it's usually been run (Badly) by dodgy businessmen or genarous benefactors.

I don't support what's going on off the field, but I'm not going to turn my back on the Club I support.

Heard a rumour that BEST want to out us into admin then buy us back for £1, which would unltimately mean loss of 15 points.

Also from Luggys interviews doesnt sound like he will be staying if they take over. Remember Little said football begins and  ends with Jose veiga,Luggy will not tolerate that

If thats true then that shows that best holdings are cheapskates who dont give a dam about the club and that would also mean that they are not bothered about a points deduction.

If we get a points deduction or sturrock goes i can see there being a lot of people starting riots behind the arkells.

I think they may get rid of sturrock anyway even if he doesn't walk as it is obvious that they want Jose Veiga to take over as the main man.

Fair enough Hertbab, but I'm no longer going to pay £x hundred blindly into an enterprise I don't agree with, the last few months have shown there are more important things in life.
A football club should be the centre of a Towns community instead it does everything possible to upset the locals through bad PR, poor finances and general bad management....The current board have never achieved good relations with the local community or fans to that matter and I can't see the proposed new owners understanding the ethos of football either. I will listen to what they have to say, but if I don't agree with their plans for the first time I will vote with my feet and be a 'stay away' without feeling any guilt. The financial fiasco is getting boring and is starting to impede on the matchday experience.

They may have a problem with that one as if we went into admin we would be kicked out of the league due to the 3 strikes and your out rule.

Also no doubt that Veiga would be picking the team as i said above i think best holdings want him in charge, he would pick the team over sturrock obviously the first time that happens sturrock is gone.
