Author Topic: PLEASE LEAVE OUR CLUB ALONE  (Read 5265 times)

I know lot's has been said about this but I have to put in my own thoughts.

Seeing todays result has made me feel amazing. Absolutely amazing. What a fabulous result. We have a manager who is superb, the best manager we have had for so very long. He is the best thing to happen to this club in ages and his superb ability, dignity and managerial experience is working wonders at this club that I love dearly.

BUT I cannot believe that his position...and therefore in my opinion the success of our club is in jeapordy because of a takeover bid by a bunch of muppets who want a large say in the picking of the team.

The football club should not be run that way, and if that is what is on the table then they need to leave us alone. Sturrock has to stay. Not only is he a fabulouse manager, but he is passionate about the club and has a vision. Somthing he is working towards and wants to see through at Swindon Town. WOW, I and I'm sure all of my fellow Swindon fans have wanted that so so much for many many years.

The man has to stay, he simply has to. So please Jim whateveryourname is and your powerhungry muppet takeover friends. Go away. Leave the club alone, and that goes for Willy Carson and his lot too. Bill Power seems the best option to me.

All I know is that...like every time something good happens to this club, it looks like its gonna fall away. But it cannot happen. We as fans need to make a stand. No more messing about. I'm sick of idiots running our club. BOTTOM LINE...STURROCK HAS TO STAY, and we should do whatever it takes to keep him here at this club.

We should get a group together, get the trust involved...not sure what we can do...but we have to do something.

ONE PAUL STURROCK. THERE'S ONLY ONE PAUL STURROCK......

I don't want these portugese idiots at the club because if they take over sturrock will be gone as they will want to sign their players and pick the team.

I want sturrock to stay and i would rather the portugese takeover fell through and sturrocks stays rather than them taking over and sturrock going.

I am hoping the takeover doesn't go ahead, i know we are in desperate need of cash but i don't think they are the right people to takeover the club.

The way Luggy was talking the takeover seems to be back on again (Monday or Tuesday).

It's a real git of a predicament.  If we aren't taken over the club implodes. If we are taken over we may lose the best manager we have had for quite some time.

It all so depressing. But nothing is happened yet. So I'm going to have a beer, watch the boxing and think of our 5-0 win!

how do we know these new prospective owners will want a say in picking the team? how do we know they'll be signing players and forcing them upon sturrock?

we don't.

we do know that they'd likely clear all existing debt and put the club back at a level standing in financial terms, which is more important for the long-term fduture of the club than whether or not paul sturrock remains...

i'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and let them try and improve the club. as i see it, the fact they've fallen out with mike diamandis and co is a positive sign! i'd prefer bill power to takeover but i really can't see it happening, so this is our next best option imo

I know what you're saying SY but nobody has done anything to dispel worries that they will want a say in picking the team. They are treating the fans badly in my opinion...Of course I have no absolute proof they'll want a say in the team, but my gut feeling tells me they will...if that is the case, it'll be a great great shame because Sturrock will go. Hopefully after today, they'll do whatever it takes to make him stay.

Ultimately you are correct though. The club has to survive first and foremost. I just hope that does not come at the expense of Mr Sturrock.

I wish I was a millionaire...I'd buy the club and tell 'em all to sod off and have a banana.

unfortuantely I am worth significantly less than a pube on Roman Abramovich's left testicle

likewise, sturrock is undoubtedly the best manager we've had for a very long time but nevertheless survival of the club is the most important factor. we simply won't survive under the incumbent board, so any change would be welcome to me.

you may very well be right and the new board want a say in picking the team but i don't think predicting what they may or may not want to do is wise at this stage.

i don't see how it's "blatantly obvious" arriba?

Not to mention Sturrock himself has the same concerns, as was obvious from his interviews.

I agree stfcben. I am as much in love with Sturrock as is possible without being gay. I love the man. He is the best thing to happen to this club in many a year. I hope against hope that if/when the takeover happens he is allowed to run all team affairs with no meddling from the powers that be. I would go on but i'm pissed to fuck and getting a bit mushy. Maybe I am gay?
