Bit late but the woodville is a good pub but just outside the centre, in the centre moloko used to be the best bar by far and possibly the best in Britain but it's shut now and there's a bar called Iota instead, probably still worth going too though. Avoid flares. Clwb ifor bach is very good.

I lived in Cardiff for a while. You may be lucky and miss the weekend storm of valley boys. Maybe you won't.
