Radio coverage for a league 1 outfit isn't exactly going to be top standard anyway - pretty amateur I'd guess.  I think some people have got expectations that are too high!

Those expectations are based on the standards set over previous seasons by the Beeb. Unfortunately, they should now be based on what we've come to expect from anything arranged by the board of STFC. However, it does appear that the club are getting involved in trying to improve matters according to the OS today. They even invite feedback! Credit where it's due.

I don't see how watching Diagnosis Murder solves the problem?

I listened to brunel on the way to work this morning, and the presenter
told people to go on the adver site as some one called the voice of reason
had posted about the coverage and he was an idiot , or something like that

yeovil's right.

the problems with listening live on stfcworld are premiumtv's ongoing contiuning problems which have plagued the service for a year or two now. not brunel's fault whatsoever.

premiumtv have exclusive rights to broadcasting live commentary of all league matches over the internet, therefore neither the bbc or brunel are allowed to broadcast match commentary for these games. cup games and the such like are not part of this contract, so have been available on bbc online. there have been occasions in the past where the bbc have forgotten to turn off the live feed during matches but this is an anomaly.

marie did sound a bit grumpy, but i thought it might be nerves.

In all honesty sonic, I've been listening to the commentary over STFCWorld for 4 seasons now, and they still have not solved any of the problems with the service that have plauged it from the outset. Now I'm paying for the privilege, I doubt I'll renew my subscription unless they offer me a significant discount. Problem is, I'll be lost without it (for the next 5 months anyway...)

Courtesy of slaggy on Rivals, free match highlights on Virgin...

If that service is available every week then it’s a tough decision to justify the service from STFC World.  We’re no the only ones a quick trawl of Saturday threads on other boards quickly highlights the overall reliability of the package.

Out of interest did anyone listen to the updates on the BBC on Saturday and is it a viable alternative to the moody links?

As my mates wanted to sit in the Intel/Nationwide/South/Kingswood Stand last night I decided to stay in the Arkells, watch the match and listen to the commentary.

Personally apart from the wind getting to the microphones and the unnecessary "touchline updates" every time there was a substitution where we're subjected to the giggling Marie I thought it was a pretty good effort.  Not really sure what she adds to the coverage.

It was good to hear what Alan Mac thought about the game and the cloud obsessed main commentator wasn't that bad.  I'll listen in again (mainly for away matches) but at least it sounded like theywere at a match, unlike the beeb's coverage where sometimes it sounded like theywere at a local cricket match.

I had a real knightmare last night was unable to go to the match so though would be the prefect chance to try out the new radio station! - Turned on Brunel FM when I left my circuit training class in Chippenham - managed to get it OK but it was a bit echoey but I could hear what was going on!- totally lost signal when I got out into Pewsham - got it back again at the top of Derry Hill - Lost it again in Bromham  :x

GREAT!!!

I thought it was poor at times to be honest.  Didin't like the commentators style at all, saved by Alan Mac.

The most irritating thing was the constant stream of obvious mistakes.  They changed the way you pronounce Comminges about 3 times, we had Bevozan in goal for a bit, we were trying to capitulate this season in League 1, Alan McDonald was doing the commentary, we had 3, no 4, no 3 players running forward, Brezovan dropped the ball and then the game clearly stopped for 30 seconds while the commentator had a chat.

Sorry, but for Macca it was poor stuff.  Marie was very pointless.

Having said all that it was at least making me chuckle during a defeat and maybe they can keep up the clangers even when they are a little more experienced, just for fun.
