I think some people are moaning because the addicted to moaning.
As I see it the main problem was the "World" problem which probably isnt Brunels fault.

No thats why everyone used to post the dodgey links.

You can listen to BBC online for everything but Match commentary.

yeovil's right.

the problems with listening live on stfcworld are premiumtv's ongoing contiuning problems which have plagued the service for a year or two now. not brunel's fault whatsoever.

premiumtv have exclusive rights to broadcasting live commentary of all league matches over the internet, therefore neither the bbc or brunel are allowed to broadcast match commentary for these games. cup games and the such like are not part of this contract, so have been available on bbc online. there have been occasions in the past where the bbc have forgotten to turn off the live feed during matches but this is an anomaly.

marie did sound a bit grumpy, but i thought it might be nerves.

Listened to it on my radio and I thought it was bloody shocking... not a shade on BBC Radio Swindon and they cocked it up 5 minutes before the match too and put a song on  .

There was no pre-match hype for the first game of the season! God knows how they will hype up the next 45 games...

I think there is too much hype in modern football already, its the reason why i barely watch premiership games on tv anymore, its such utter bollocks.

Anyway fair play to Brunel for not giving a shit ,hey its what we're used to as fans being treated with utter contempt,i salute them.

Radio coverage for a league 1 outfit isn't exactly going to be top standard anyway - pretty amateur I'd guess.  I think some people have got expectations that are too high!

The commentary wasn't too bad from what I heard, certainly didn't sound as bad as people made out.

Some of the comments in the match were a little silly, like going on about how second half substitutions might make the team more effective (after about 20 minutes of first half played), but you get stuff like that with any commentator/pundit.

That's unprofessional! I want to listen to a decent commentary not some misery chomping her way through a tub of Haagen dazs! She'll never make Newsround with that attitude.

I had a fairly long chat when it was first announced Brunel would be taking over with Craig Rance about the problems it would cause non-Swindon based fans. Inevitably one of the areas that came up was that the STFCWorld coverage was not an adequate substitute as it is useless. And at the time he took great pains to explain to me that each and every one of the problems I described were down to the BBC being incompetent. So, what goes around, comes around, I guess Brunel will be just as happy to accept the blame for PTV being a bunch of idiots now they're on the receiving end - they were certainly quick enough to dish it out, now they've got all season to lap it up.
