I am someone who has been staunchly against these idiots in charge and hope very much that Diamond mike loses his stranglehold on the club.  But I honestly saw the Brevitt appointment as a positive as almost a signal of intent from the new investors to be heavily involved in the club.

At the moment we are all speculating the worst outcomes and past experiences have made us think this way but personally if a new consortium gets a controlling interest in the club then it is hard to see how they could possibly be worse than we currently have.  

As far as loads of African players coming over, I wouldn't object as some of the mose talented young players in the world are coming out of Africa these days.

I very much hope this isn't a false dawn but for us to completely rule it out or to completely say it will have a negative impact is very short sighted until we know the full facts.

Wasn't me who suggested that it is mentioned earlier in the thread that it almost happened at a takeover by Fashanu at Northamption.  It was discussed as a negative thing where as I was saying I felt it would be more of a positive thing.

  Although I suppose by nature pessimistic, I think you can take it as a given that there's a certain amount of inevitibility, that the mystery investors will leave the current mob looking wonderful.

I think Brevett and the grass chewing pensioner Taribo West we’re fairly close at Plymuff but that’s as tenuous a link I can come up with.  I just hope it’s nothing to do with Fash the Bash.  As much as he’s comedy gold you wouldn’t trust him with a box of eggs.

Meanwhile the whole Brevett scenario gets stranger the longer I think about it.  Even if he is just a ‘go between’ with the manager and investors why would you choose a recently retired journeyman like Brevett?  He doesn’t have much in the way of business or backroom experience and if as Sturrock indicated he is part of this new consortium and as the board keep implying they are that well off financially why involve Brevett?  Despite an honest career he can’t exactly be rolling in the millions and brings nothing to the table in experience except perhaps a few contacts from his playing days.

My guess is that Brevitt was not chosen for his ability or experience more the fact that he was someone they could trust.
