Sturrock was quite clear on the Beeb that it’s not a director of football post in any way and was even a little tetchy when Ed asked him what it would be like working with someone in that sort of post.  He replied that Brevett will be ‘Sporting Director’ which is essentially just a liaison with the new investors and he will be filling in with some scouting.

One interesting piece in the interview was that Sturrock mentioned the reason for Brevett’s arrival was due to the investors having a lot of businesses on the go and wouldn’t always be on hand.

Interesting Dazzza

Power to People raised a really salient point in that historically that has always been the CEO's role.

Why call him a Sporting Director ?

I would be really really interested when this all washes out what his remit is

  Realistically, in what way could a newly retired footballer be expected to be clued up enough about business to be able to keep an eye on someone like Mike D??

Fuck me....I think I've missed something here,

Can someone confirm we've appointed Rufus Brevitt, into some dodgy management position....whatever you want to call it?

If so  Sturrrock will be gone within 8 weeks.....I've now got a real concern  for the future of our club.

I saw someone who looked a lot like Bowden in the Co-Op on Sunday buying fans....I thought at the time, its probably so the contents of the  Boardroom  bog can aimed in our general direction at protests next season.

I think it is a proposal should proposed the mystery investor become an actual investor.

The way Luggy was talking it seemed a done deal though.

Cheers Batch....something in my water tells me this is plain wrong.   I have a deep sense of foreboding as to the nature and intent of our mysterious investors..

Would John Fashanu have any links with Brevitt?   I recall he tried to buy the Cobblers a while back for some dodgy Nigerians,  the aim being to get African footballers into England and make some bucks from selling them on.

They came mighty close to getting the Cobblers.....I'm now convinced that any mystery investor is going to be dodgy.

I remember that Fashanu/Nigerian fiasco it really was as dodgy as it gets.
It instances such as this that really makes my patience wear thin, without telling us who they are then the conspiracy theories will continue to get thrown about. This secrecy does make me deeply suspicious but I guess thats just my nature when it comes to business...

If you were writing a STFC-based soap opera, "you just could not make it any more unbelievable!"
