No-one is ever going to give a shit about any grades you get in GCSE as long as they are higher than a C. And even then it's only Maths, English and things related to anything you might want to do at A Level.
Actually Oxford/Cambridge might, but fuck that. Thats the thing, I wont get many over C. And Maths is certainly not one of them.

Doesnt sound like you are much of an academic type so if you have the opportunity to get a trade then go for it.The worst thing you can do is get any crappy job just because you want a few quid thats what i did and ive regretted it for the last 15 years.

Do people really care about grades? If I dont get my C's in Maths and English but go for an apprenticeship will they really care?

Depends what you are doing I expect.
My brother did a sparky apprenticeship and had to get his Maths GCSE at night school whilst on the job I think.Trouble is there are loads of kids all wanting apprenticeships competeting for very few spots.Just put yourself out there, the best way to get in seems to be knowing someone who knows someone.

Depends on the apprenticeship, I'd imagine something like electronics would require a C at maths. Don't know if bricklaying is anything more than laying bricks. If you need to understand wall angles and stuff then Maths might be useful. Ask the apprenticeship people.
Not the end of the world either way. Loads of my mates at new college were re-taking maths GCSE's whilst doing various other shit.

if you're going for apprenticeships then would be a good idea to get some interview practice in, your school careers blokey might be able to help. good interview is as important as any GCSE grades - as long as you get asked to come in the first place.

what axs said.
If you can't get or don't fancy an apprenticeship then don't just go for the first job which comes along, as someone said early, you could end up regretting it. Keep your options open, see what you can do at college. At worst you'd have got to fuck around and have fun for a year or two.

You're doomed to a life of poor wages and being shafted by managers.
