Sunderland Borough Council (or whatever they call themselves) offered Sunderland AFC the opportunity to do a bus tour having gained promotion to the Premiership but Quinn and Keane turned them down. I can see why they did that. They see themselves as a Premiership club so gaining promotion to the Premiership should not in itself be a cause for celebration on that scale. Ratch it down a few notches and you could say the same about STFC. Yes it's great that we're up and let's celebrate it all night long. BUT you have to keep it in context. We have been promoted from the bottom division in third place. We've been promoted back to a division which is still a league below the one which many of us feel we can hold our own in given the right backing. I tell you what, I am so glad we didn't fuck it up today

Thanks...but no thanks.
This is only Div 4....and even the great Lou Macari side in '86 didn't have an open bus tour...and they won the league by 18 points !!!

I scored 3 (three) at six-a-side at the oasis today. If you knew me you would be amazed too. I demand an open top bus ride of at least the company car park.

Abit of an overkill to have an open top bus tour. We should never have been in this division in the first place and hopefully that is the last we see of it for a very long time if at all.
