Our defence is the reason we are third in this league.

If we had anything resembling a consistent midfield and decent scorers then we would have it by a country mile.

Incidentally, what is a country mile? Is it longer than a standard one?

Yep i completely agree. Had we had an out and out goal scorer and more creativity in the midfield we would have walked the division. I still think we will go up but big changes need to be made.

We need some good battling midfield hardmen and a couple of goalscorers.

Our defence and keepers are probally the best in this league.

The thing I am am annoyed about is that with H'pool losing, the championship was up for grabs.  Sturrock hinted as much in the week.  And what do we do? lay down and die against a poor side.  I worry when you can't motivate 11 players to put in a bit of effort to clinch promotion.

The only player that can taake any credit for their performance was Ifil.  In my opinion we lost it in midfield.  Pook and surprisingly Peacock were truly awful.  Pook couldn't pass remotely close to a teammate and the game passsed Peacock by.  Zaaboub was lightweight and Roberts allowed the crowd to get to him.  Pathetic.

I honestly never thought Robbo would let a crowd bother him. He's normaly the type of player who thrives on the crowd giving him shit.

Remember when we played City in April 2004?

Robbo was arrogant and cocky and our fans hated it.

But that's Roberts all over. He's a prima donna.

Now if we could somehow take a spoonful of Roberts and a slice of Peacock and grow a winger - or two - with determination, work rate and (undoubtedly) Robert's skill...

I mean that the crowd got to him in that he decided he needed to beat Rovers singlehandedly.  Great when it comes off but yesterday it diddn't but at least he tried.  Some of the others looked at it like a stroll in the park.  I think we really missed Corr up front.  Lukas and Sturrock looked lost

Cheesy Roberts fooking loves the banter. Its ace to watch. They chant at him and he just struts on by.

If Paul Evans was fit for the whole of the season, we would've walked this league.
