Friday night was Tom Bailey (Thompson Twins) supported by Art Of Noise at the Indgo at O2.

I know I’m getting old but, 40 years since the release of Into The Gap? Where has the time gone?

A good night of good music.

The O2 is a bastard to get home from though.

Barry Adamson in Bristol tonight.
Former bassist of Magazine & early stalwart of the Bad Seeds.

A small but welcome distraction in what is going to be a long summer.

I saw (some of) Julian Clary doing stand-up last week. I'd booked the tickets based on him being brilliant on a recent series of Taskmaster. I was very wrong and it is the worst stand-up I've probably ever seen. The audience were all 60yrs+ and they gasped at a joke about Prince Andrew being in hospital for, "something minor". The whole set was geared towards people that think such a joke is risky, or that talking about being gay is still something novel or in some way scandalous these days.

We left at the interval and didn't return.

I have met him but never seen his stand up show.

I bagged tickets today to see the great Jasper Carrott in Wimborne on this coming Tuesday, supported by Strictly Abba...which is a wierd combination of acts.

For want of something better to do it's The Skids in Derby tonight.

Not supped in this part of the East Midlands before so why not give it a go as a footballing visit is as unlikely as 18 year olds doing national service any time soon.

Off to see Ed Tudor-Pole in his one man show with a Q & A session afterwards in Bristol next Saturday evening. He is a lovely (if a little mental) bloke.

I have seen him 4 times before he is great live.

Did you know that Gary Long, the drummer in Tenpole Tudor (who is a good friend of mine) is a Swindon fan (as well as a Charlton fan) and comes from a villagenear Pewsey?

Went to Liam Gallagher with my 12 year old on Friday and it was absolutely supern. It was the definetly maybe tour and a night of pure nostalgia.

Made better by my daughter belting out classics word for word, they won't always want to spend time with their dad as they get older so have to cherish these moments

Green Day at Wembley on Saturday night. Might miss the England game if they fall short tonight.
