Fuck me are they still going? Violins in rock bands are a bit of a tricky thing....the discordance it brings can work, like the Velvet Underground, but always found Curved Air a bit hard going.
Sonja Kristina wasn't too shabby mind in about 1970....has she kept well?

Anyone remember the Fabulous Poodles late 70/s early 80s. They were a bit good with a violinist.

Saw The Pixies tonight. Brixton.
Frank Blank, an inspiration to fat blokes everywhere.
No chit chat between songs, just play.
Fantastic.

Had to go through Viagogo to get a ticket. Well worth it though.

Saw Jimmy Carr Saturday night 2 hrs 40 minutes of pure filth, the location, Croydon gave him a lot of good ammo.

Yeah, a couple more from the new album. Have a look on the setlist site. They managed to rattle through 30 plus songs in about an hour and a half.

Really glad that I've avoided the bloated, aged Pixies. Nothing, nothing, will ever match their raw, peerless majesty when they mattered (above all, a steaming night in Kilburn - only to get home to hear Lou Macari had resigned).* *pathetic attempt to pretend that I'm not wildly, insanely jealous.

To be fair Frank has been bloated since about 1988 It's amazing how well his voice has held up.. Just imagine singing 'Rock Music' alone for 20 years. Makes me want a strepsil just thinking about it.

Gang of Four tomorrow evening.
Bands that are quoted as "massively influential" by so called successful bands are generally not commercially popular themselves. Gof4 are a case in point.
I'd travel anywhere (within reason) to see them, so Llangollen Town Hall it is then, via a strategically arranged meeting in Shropshire first.
