Ive just been into our office (SJM Concerts). There a strange air of smug happiness about the place. I think they are pretty happy to have got her out of retirement. I just want them to do the same with XTC but I dont think its going to happen.

Didn't Andy say he wouldnt ever perform with them again not that long ago, no animosity he has just moved on to producing more than performing now.

Well they quit live performance due to stage fright from Mr Partridge 1982. So maybe it wont happen.

I could have sworn they made it up not long afterwards, could be wrong though. I do know that Andy does much prefer his producing now though although he does perform occassionally under a pseudonym called Adagio Sabatini (sp).

If XTC ever performed live again I would be fucking delighted. I'm hoping Tom Waits will tour again but that's not looking very likely either...

http://www.avclub.com/article/andy-partridge-14057Good interview there. They have properly fallen out again, apparently Colin has now decided to totally stop being involved with music, shame really but can't be helped. So no chance of a reunion now it would seem.

My first ever gig was XTC at the hexagon in Reading. I was stone deaf for 4 days after it.

XTC won't play again because Partridge hates the culture of booze and drugs that go along with musicians. He's teetotal.

Re: Our gig at SBE Who the hell does Adje really think he is? Was he even there? (I ask myself) Does he even care? (don’t kid yourself) Wait ’til our PR men hear of this
It’s a bad review, we got a bad review …oh Lord It’s a bad review – what are we gonna do? …oh Lord I can’t walk down the street ‘cos other groups I might meet, and they’ll smirk Oh, it’s a rum old do, is a bad review …oh Lord And my girlfriend’s fuming
You hacks don’t know where it’s at You can’t appreciate the master of the Strat Not that I’m concerned (‘course you’re not) TheTownend.com’s full of crap (‘course it is) I only read the gig guide anyway............
