In Oxford last night, Milton Jones asked which football teams the crowd supported. After a couple of "Man Utd", "Oxford", and "Chelsea" responses, a woman down the front was brave enough to shout "Swindon" - widely booed of course!
After asking if he was needed any more, he came out with the joke, "The match I'd like to see, is Alex Ferguson's Manchester United against South Korea's Arsenal." Which sums the evening up pretty much, though it was the second time I had seen it and pretty much the same material.
Hope he's not getting lazy...but could be. Also, I generally hate comedians doing football jokes, as they usually know sod all. An on form Jones remains superb.

Been the last two years. Proper pain to get to and from, but very decent once your there. Always been decent crowd of people there when i've been.
I'd want to go as well, but its so much money.

Exactly the same at the MECA the other night with some guy (clearly mentally unstable) shouting Oxford with a similar response. Thought Milton was good but with his type of humour a 40 minute set was enough before potentially getting boring.

That's what I said a few days ago (although I thought 30 minutes was enough) His grandad was better than him I thought.

Great gig at the Fleece(Brizzle) sunday night, Wilko Johnson very entertaining indeed with good couple of supports - the Soulvents and Petrol. Pity Kerrouche wasn't there too, might have reignited his fire with all that flammable support.

I was ok as never queued in the rain - we saw Examples tweet so went out for dinner instead Hopefully it will get rescheduled next year Although it shows the oasis needs some money spending on it?!

Fair one. It probably echoes whats been said on here before but Swindon really does need a decent concert venue. The Oasis just isn't up to holding events.

What is MECA like? A bit hot and sandy. Gets quite busy once a year.

Apparently it's not a bad venue, but they have yet to put anything vaguely decent on, so i can't judge for myself.

The venue itself is meant to look ok, shame the owners cant run it and have lost a rediculous amount of money since opening.
