Featured in a few articles (they've managed 4 separate stories from one chat) but it seems like he's saying all the right things to me.

To summarise:

1. He doesn't want any mud-slinging with the current board

2. He'd like SSW and Wee Willie to stay on in some capacity

3. The reaction of the Town fans after the crash made him not want to let us down

4. He's happy with Sturrock

5. Wants at least one fan on the board

6. Doesn't want to risk the club

7. And he's now mellowed out since his near death experience. Totally like chilling, dude.

Saying all the right things for me. Get this guy in soon please.

Is one of the trust bods able to put a rough timescale on things if all ran smoothly? Is there any way in hell he could be involved before the January transfer window?

If not, are welooking at the end of the season??

Read those articles with great interest. Apparently it was cards and emails from well wishers that convinced him to "not turn his back on the fans"

What a guy!

i nearly wet myself a little reading that. i remain clinging to the hope that this will help to persuade those who are still doubters of the consortium!

No idea about his business skills, but as an exercise in positive PR and persuading the fans to support you, the guy is spot on, he couldn't be more opposite from the current regime.  If everything he says is true then good times might be just around the corner.

I think the prospect of you wetting yourself is only likely to put people off, tbh.

IMHO I think that is a bit optimistic, judgeing by the noises that have come out of SN1 the last couple of weeks and I think we have got some hard work to do before it actually "happens".

Dont forget, we still need to get agreement from SSW that he is prepared to start negotiations yet.

Once those are underway then a period of due dilligence will be entered into. Now this is an intricate process even with the most simplest of buyouts/purchases, but judgeing by the legacy issues that could well be left for the consortium to deal with, coupled with the historic trading of the business, this process would need to go down to macro level (all of which will not happen over night).

This is even before Heads of Agreement are negotiated, drawn up and signed.

Of course I for one would love it to happen before January for the obvious reasons, but realistically I cant see it.

Sorry to piss on the bonfire so to speak

What with you and Sonic, we're going to be flooded out if this carries on.

Fair point Fred. A heavy dose of realism is needed, much as we all want things to progress - and move quickly - the likelihood of any takeover being sealed in January is a mere pipe dream IMHO.
