From reading the articles, it's written almost as if it's a foregone conclusion the deal will happen. I just pray it's not going to be an article we look back on in 2, 3 or 4 years time thinking, 'if we'd taken that up we might just be pushing towards the Championship rather than mid-table in the Conference'. Is that intentional? Is it a foregone conclusion? I doubt it.
That aside, he says everything right. Reading between the lines it's quite clear than any gripe he had was with Diremandis, and he holds Carson and Seton in high regard.
Also, that the purse strings will be loosened to an extent - in this league thats all thats required - enough to get in the loanee you want, 50k or 60k here and there should a decent player turn up, and enough to extend key contracts - Ifil, Weston, Jack Smith, Evans, perhaps Zaaboub et al.
If this goes ahead I'm taking a day off and spending it in the pub draped in a big red flag.

It's bound to get nasty imo you have to remember it is Diamandis that is running the show and he likes to have his finger in every pie - what will it do to his Dunwoody business if he was not involved with stfc ?
You have to remember SSW seems to rate the Greek highly so trusts what he tells him, and the greek does not want to give up his throne easily.
I think that Power was rather nice and restrained in his interview, there must have been things that went on between him and Diamandis that have not been revealed.

Its interesting that BP would keep Carson on board.....and it has to be said that it was only Carson who had the simple common decency to go and visit BP in hospital.
We know Willie is nothing more than a figurehead who has nothing to do with decision making......but he's still tainted by association with the present regime.

I can't help feeling that the role for Carson, depending on the future of SSW is as president, we've not had one since stalwart Cecil Green died, and it'd suit Carson, a figurehead role, no responbility except shaking hands etc, whilst maintaiing a role in the club.

Effectively that is what he does now....a classic was on the appointment of Sturrock, he said he heard who it was on the radio on his way over to the Press Conference.

Doesn't bother me in the slightest - fact is, the bloke's probably not bad to talk to round a dinner table...roll him out pre-match so the few who actually go 'Corporate' (is there such thing at the CG, they probably give them a free bag of Monster Munch) can at least say they saw someone recognsable at the match.

It's not going to do any harm keeping little Willy around is it? Let's face it, he is not where the problem lies. I think he's basically harmless and could do some good in terms of getting a bit of sponsorship in with his horse racing and general sports contacts - Even if it is just a few Corporate matchday packages every season or something like that.
Oh yes, and fair play to him for visiting Billy boy in hospital!

Just playing Devils Advocate here (I personally do not have anything against him) BUT Is there any evidence at all of him organising corporate sponsorship and matchday packages in the past when we are in the shit ? Why should that all change now ? Just wondering !
