Step forward...... Mr Gareth Whalley!

He was utterly anonymous against non league opposition last night which for a bloke who has had the career he has had is unacceptable in my opinion.  He just strolls around doing fuck all and passing sideways. But that is just my opinion.

I dont think sturrock will like him either though, dosnt seem to fit the mould of central midfielder that sturrock likes (athletic box to box types who can pass and tackle) Weston, Evans & pook all fall under this catagory. Whalley dosnt. he'll be next - marketh my words :agree:

Didn't go last night, but agree that Whalley has got to go - been totally unimpressed with the bloke since he got here years ago.

Also, injury prone, or what?

I just listened to the phone-in from last week (Extremely interesting). Sturrock was saying he can judge a player on one game and would have a very good idea by next Wednesday (i.e. today) as to who was up to it and who was not.

On that basis I would not be surprised to see a couple more follow Fola out the door (that rhymes Cool ) in the near future. Whalley has to be favourite I would guess.

Lonergan will go 1st. Absolute clown last night.

I think Whalley will stay, allowed to run his contract out. Sturrock will have a bit more respect for the experienced pro.

Doubt Pook will be in the team much anymore.

But of the non loanees my bet is on Monkhouse. His control was awful last night.

I don't suppose Sturrock will kick Gurney out while he's injured. And in any case he may like him, he's a direct no-nonsense player. Maybe Sturrock will get the best out of him when he does come back.

I dont think Sturrock will think his best is good enough to be league 1 quality so I really think he will be shown the door, even before he's fully fit but perhaps he will wait to give him a chance?

gurney's an attacking full-back, the sort of player sturrock likes.

i agree that whalley is likely to be first out the door.

I think sturrock may like Gurney. As said above he is direct and no nonsense and is capable of putting a decent cross in. He should know who he is too after he played against plymouth in L1 (including being sent off at home park)

I'll never help but think we just havent got the best out of Whalley.

A Conference side will snap him up on loan, or even a side in this division.

Who's this new loan signing going to be then, striker or right winger? Awaiting the text...Lloyd Sam from Charlton?

Still reckon another striker will be on the way out to make room for one coming in, though maybe not until January.

Peacock - just don't know
Brownlie - PS seemed encouraged
Roberts - only one scoring right now, but not PS' type, if you know what I mean
Jutkiewicz - rates him
Caton - doesn't as a striker, maybe on the left
