Get some kip Mark and look after yourself - glad to hear Stan's on the mend.
And Yeovil, who're you calling a fucking hippy? Outside, now, you and all your fucking pies

Sometimes by defending yourself in the public domain completely undermines your whole defence with regards to letting the other side know where you are coming from. I applaud him for the stance he has taken and wish both him and Stan a complete recovery

i aint having a go but why not respond to the negative press about yourself? if its false why not defend yourself? Because he can't without jeapordising his employment rights - as the board seem only to have realised when "we can't comment due to legal advice" became a handy smokescreen for awkward questions at the AGM, you can't go making public comments about a potential employer-employee disciplinary dispute in public. There is a due process that these things are supposed to follow - just because the board have chosen to completely ignore that by hanging a guy who's been in and out of hospital out to dry in public, doesn't mean Mark D should behave with a similar lack of decorum and respect.

if somebody is publicly given shit.then i think they should respond in the same way! if nothing to hide then nothing to lose! What and in doing so give their employers the excuse they've been waiting for to dismiss them for gross misconduct or some other such baloney? Think about it, the bloke's got a mortgage to pay, a family to feed, he's been in and out of hospital and his son's had to have about umtpy-nine ops on his legs. Under those circumstances, it might be a time when people would think very hard about trying not to also get sacked, or at least if they do to ensure they get a pay-out so they can feed their family, pay the kid's medical bills etc. Plus for much of the past few months, Mark's been in and out of hospital himself - not really in much of a condition to be engaging in a public slanging match. And if he had risen to the bait, some people would have laid into him for it, for "attacking the board". FWIW, I think he's behaved with remarkable dignity, restraint and common sense under the circumstances. In marked contrast to some.
