after reading his comments i have taken it that he sees us as an opportunity to manage over here and is using the fact that he played here for a while as reason to apply.
i'm sure with his history, he could have applied to any number of other clubs over here - obviously he's seen what's unravelled at the club and chosen to apply. perhaps he is using us as a stepping stone, but it's not as though sturrock et al wouldn't be.
does he have a lack of knowledge of lower league footy over here?
did wise? does macari?
does he have contacts over here for players to bring in?
he's not likely to be bringing many players in so will have time to build up contacts. i'm sure he knows people around the uk as he also played up in scotland.
what has he actually acheived in management at a good level and not as an assistant?
he's taken stormvogels telstar - a tiny club by all accounts - to third position in the second tier of dutch football, their equivalent of our championship. i suppose the equivalent of that in the english leagues would be rushden & diamonds pushing for promotion to the premiership.
of course, you shouln't dismiss his achievements as an assistant and a coach because they are numerous and notable achievements. what's bodin achieved?
basement league footy in holland is not something i'm up on but if he were that great surely he would have a better job in his home country?
telstar is his first managerial appointment and he's not been there for very long i believe - if there aren't the opportunity there for him, he isn't going to get them.
if macari's such a great manager, why is he still out of work?
i think he is worthy of an interview but i am a little worried if truth be told that he is the right manager for stfc
he'd be a better appointment than lou macari who probably knows zero about football away from old trafford nowadays.
